TownePlace Suites by Marriott San Diego Airport/Liberty Station

My husband and I spent a wonderful weekend in San Diego, and TownePlace was the perfect choice for us. We loved the decor in the spacious lobby area, and the staff was extremely helpful. The room and bed were very comfortable. I was surprised that our room had a large refrigerator and kitchenette, complete with plates and utensils. This turned out to be really useful, as I had brought a little food along to accommodate my diet. The first night of our stay, there was a fire alarm in the middle of the night which turned out to be a false alarm apparently. I only mention the incident because there was no way anyone could sleep through that alarm sound, so you can be assured of that. We also really enjoyed using the pool to cool off, and the breakfast buffet was also pretty good. Overall, it was a wonderful stay, and we look forward to choosing this hotel again next time we come down to San Diego to visit the zoo!

I called early in the evening to tell them I was late arriving at the airport because my prior flight was cancelled. I told them I’d get in around midnight. When my flight was delayed further I ended up arriving at 2:30am but there was nobody there at the front desk to open the doors to the hotel. Only after I bange on the glass and kept calling the phone for 5 mins did an employee wake up and come to the front desk and open the lobby doors. When I told him I had a reservation he said “sorry. We are oversold. We don’t have any rooms for you. You should have called.” But I did call, I tried to explain. He said “Sorry, it’s our policy and you will lose your deposit. And only at 5:00am will you be able to take the free shuttle back to the airport.” Horrible

Easy access to airport. Continental breakfast was provided.

Pros: Breakfast was decent continental and well organized. Staff was attentive to needs refilling food items as needed. Overall would not book here again.I can deal with dated, even some wear and tear, but dirty is nonnegotiable.

We were given a room at the very end of the hallway which we didnt mind. But there was not an exhaust in the restroom, beds and pillows were very uncomfortable. The pillows were so flat, I wish we had brought our own pillows. The next day when our room was cleaned, we found bits and pieces of trash in front of our door. I dont usually leave comments but this is the first time we were unhappy with a Marriott hotel, so I feel that this needs to be addressed.

Great location. Clean and roomy rooms

We had a nice stay at TownePlace Suites by Marriot San Diego Airport/ Liberty Station. The location was perfect for us, close to the Ferry to Coronado, Midway Museum, SeaWorld and just a few miles from Sunset Cliffs Beach & others. You can hear the airport noise but it's to be expected. The staff was helpful in suggesting activities. Overall the property is picturesque and safe. The breakfast is good, not great, but convenient. There's plenty of other restaurants within a few miles. We would definitely stay there again.

They charge $25 for parking! Each night!!!!! Like who does this?!? I booked through Expedia and I purchased my reservation ahead of time to find that they charged my credit card $200 for parking!!!!!
