Historic property, great location, fantastic room size and value. Area around the hotel has some interesting characters after dark

Someone commented that the area is not safe. Well, we found it to be safe enough. Of course, late night walking may (or may not) be safe simply because the city has problem with homeless people BUT one can be careful (as we were by crossing the street at dinner time & avoiding the homeless who have settled for the night). The breakfast was included in the room price; we thought they had good variety (yoghurt, croissants, muffins, pastries, fruit, tea & coffee); we had breakfast and ready for the day's excursions. All in all we were very happy staying at Beresford Arms Hotel & will choose this hotel again. Thank you to all the staff at Beresford Arms.

Let's start with the room. I booked a room with three queen beds, but I didn't get what I reserved. Instead, they gave me a room with two queen beds and a sofa bed, acting as if it was the same thing. The room itself was also dirty. There were stains on the chairs, the sofa, and the rug, which was absolutely disgusting. The neighborhood was another major issue. Throughout the night, people were yelling outside, police cars drove by with their sirens on, and at 4:30 a.m. someone blasted music at full volume. To make matters worse, the street outside smelled strongly of urine when we walked out. Yuck! Overall, this was a very disappointing stay, and I would not recommend this hotel.

Be aware that this hotel is on the border of the Tenderloin District, where there are many homeless people. One night at 3:30am someone parked themselves right underneath our hotel room window (we were on the 3rd floor up from from the sidewalk) and blasted their playlist on their portable speakers for at least an hour. Then there was an argument with a lot of cussing out on the sidewalk. It is walkable to many things. The rooms are outdated. The shower dripped incessantly no matter how tight we turned the knob. It was priced appropriately for what it was - as they say - you get what you pay for.

The rooms are very well organised.

but some info you may want to know. 1: room walls seem thin and we heard everyone walking down the stairs or above us. 2: limited channels on TV like at most 15-20 channels were available. 3: **Most important ** we did Valet parking, their sub service they use is questionable. We checked out at 11:40 did not get our car until 12:40+. It took them an hour to get our car and when ask 20 min they said it’s on the way. This is not on the hotel but since they hired the service I still believe it falls on them. Over it was a good weekend and stay just some bumps.

The hotel offers a simple breakfast, along with a complimentary wine or tea tasting in the late afternoon, which is a thoughtful and welcoming touch for guests. The front desk staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would gladly return.

Was such a unique place to stay! Really loved it and the complimentary tea and snack time in the afternoon.

Good experience.

The property itself is clean and has a great look inside. The area immediately outside was loud, had drug addicts all along the surrounding streets, and overall unsafe. From our room, we heard the cops blaring their siren repeatedly for hours. 0/10 don’t recommend.

Muy buen lugar, queda cerca de los lugares más icónicos de San Francisco. Es limpio, silencioso y cómodo. Regresaría de nuevo.

When I arrived, I noted the key card protected entry, and the person at the front desk came to let me in right away. He (I spaced his name) was extremely friendly and graciously welcomed me. He gave me my choice of room, so I was able to take an interior room away from the street. It was clean and provided everything I needed, including complimentary bottles of water. I actually slept quite well which is rare for me in hotels. Check out was extremely swift and friendly too. I didn't take advantage of the included breakfast offered in the lobby, so can't speak to that, but appreciate having that amenity. In all, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again for a budget option in the city!

Muy mal servicio y falta de limpieza en las habitaciones

We love the hotel and the location of it was so close to everything walking distance perfect for the value and surrounding area

Hotel is absolutely beautiful, and staff is lovely and kind. Neighborhood has been hit hard with the same stuff you find everywhere in big cities these days- but if you're Uber'ing everywhere, or dont mind the unsightly sidewalk smells and sights as you walk to catch public transit, the location is fine. I will say- there's no AC. We were on the 8th floor and it was around 68 degrees the 4 days we were there. The supplied fans were just enough to keep us cool, but if it had been even 10 degrees cooler, I dont think we could've stayed there. All in all, the beauty of the building and kindness of the staff would bring me back again.
