Downsides: no AC so had to open window (only fire escape one opened) and the elevator would sometimes stop working since it’s vintage. On balance would still recommend!

Front desk staff was very friendly. Room smelled extremely strongly of sewage and/or rot. We stayed in room 402. The smell was so strong it woke me up throughout the night. Unfortunately, we checked in late in the evening so we were unable to request a different room.

The hotel is old but cute and clean. The breakfast started a little late for me to be able to enjoy it. The first night was great, then they changed out the locked on my room. I went from two very secure locks to only one on the handle that was very loose, with no security lock. This was them “upgrading the locks.” For that reason I will never stay here again.

The place is Cozy and not far from the city. The services at check in

The charm of this place was just wonderful. The staff was fantastic. We didn't realize there was no air conditioning. However there was a fan provided and at least it was cool at night outside.

We really liked staying at the Cornell. It was quirky and unique which I appreciate more than a generic modern hotel room /stay. Location is excellent. Breakfast is a good average.I would stay again and recommend. The downsides if it is important to you and I understand it may well be. There is no air con which would have made our stay a little more comfortable. There is a plug in fan however. The lift was a little temperamental which being on 6th floor was only a very slight issue . A fridge and kettle in the room would also have been appreciated although there was a communal area to be make tea. Speaking of tea I was very surprised to see a good selection of tea but no black / English breakfast and am sure you receive plenty of UK visitors. I had to buy my own / go out for tea. However I did live this hotel...I love different.

Everything was great! Even the breakfast! It was served in the dungeon (basement)! Loved it! Beautiful decorated! Very safe place to walk! Closed to everything I needed! The only downside that I was it doesn’t have air condition. Good for me the weather was perfect the day we went. The other downside is the smell of something old, it could be the carpet, but it smell can bother more than others. If I go back I would rent the place again!
