The Cartwright Hotel - Union Square BW Premier Collection

Great and charming . Pretty small but cute

This hotel was in a popular location, close to union square shopping, China Town and a cable car route. The parking garage had $35 in and out parking which was very convenient for us. We were worried about the rooms being on the smaller side but found the beds to be comfortable and the rooms to be clean, the check in and out process was seamless and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The hotel is old and showed clear signs of this with sagging wallpaper and rusty finishes but we got a good price and were happy with our one night stay.

Good place for its price

Good desk, no "furry" floor carpet. Clear and Helpful staff. Good location. Very little insulated walls so you hear everything what's going on in the hallway and the adjacent rooms. Arcond noicy. So I woke up many times during the night (and I'm not super easy to wake up - this was a new eperience for me).

Very good location No mini/bar fridge

Second of all, the bed has hair on it. Lastly, the heater at the room its needs hours to make the room warm and all night was cold couldn’t sleep properly.on top of that the view was horrible from my window

The location is great, and staff were friendly and helpful The rooms are in really bad shape - wallpaper peeling of, uneven paint, worn bathtub. Rooms and staircases are in need of a deep clean.

Parking sucked bc it was 25 a day but everything else was amazing I expected a mini fridge atleast but we didn’t get one we got a upgrade though so that was really nice overall 9.6/10

No ac on the room

Staff members were wonderful. Hotel is centralized in the city. Very walkable. Rooms are a little small but convenient. I will definitely be staying here again.

I liked the cleanliness of the rooms and the comfortable bedding. It was located on the edge of union square area and the tenderloin so once it got dark there were a lot of weird people hanging around the area but it was still a very pleasant experience.

The location was excellent and very convenient. The room was spacious, comfortable, and functional. There was always hot water available, and the facilities were good. The bathroom was a bit small. The weather was cold in the evenings, and the room also got quite cold. I turned on the heater, but it wasn’t enough to warm the room completely.

Perfect place and location to stay!

by union square, free stay for pets, clean, friendly staff rooms were tiny but it’s in an old SF building, parking is in a safe area $40 but not attached to the hotel so pack light!

Staff is very nice to accommodate a room change because it was so noisy. But then the second room had some heating problems. It is an old hotel that has bathrooms remodeled. But the ability to open windows also mean it is noisy.
