Hotel Boheme

Wonderful, authentic place with a super comfortable room, great shower and the friendliest staff. Also very central - an absolute gem. My husband and I loved staying here. It was the perfect spot to start exploring San Francisco. (And the sherry in the evenings was the cherry on top :)) )

We loved how friendly and welcoming the hotel was. Being congratulated on our honeymoon made our stay feel extra special. The location is fantastic — close to great restaurants and Pier 39, all within easy walking distance. It was perfect as a base to wash, sleep, and head out to explore the city. The building is a bit dated and there’s no air conditioning, but it honestly didn’t affect our stay. The noise levels can be a little high, but that’s expected given how central the hotel is.

Great location. Old North Beach Charm embracing the beatnik era. The rooms reflect the same 60s vibe. Very personable staff. Well maintained. There were stairs to get to the lobby. May not be appropriate for those with mobile disabilities. If you have a vehicle, you must find your own parking.

Very quaint and bohemian

I’d had Hotel Boheme on my list for a while and always held back on booking it since I knew they didn’t have an elevator (I usually travel to SF for work and have heavy gear for trade shows). This time however I went for since the Dreamscape convention inflated prices around the city tenfold and Hotel Boheme was very reasonable in comparison! I’m glad I did. It’s a lovey and well maintained historic hotel and in a stellar location. They had me on the third floor (and yes, there are a few flights of stairs), but it was a very clean room with a private bathroom, windows that actually open, speedy WiFi, nice lighting, a comfortable bed, and no fear or deactivated keys since you get real ones. I’d certainly stay here again if I were packing light and only staying for 1-2 nights. It’s a little small for a couple, but I was on my own so it was nice. Kind people who work here as well.

The hotel itself has old fashioned authentic San Francisco charm. Pleasant staff, comfy beds, and the sherry at happy hour is a very nice touch. It is in a very lively location with an abundance of bars and restaurants around. Easily walkable to lots of sights including the Pier. It's not the hotels fault but it was very noisy at night especially if your room faced the main road and/or your room was above the bakery below (we were woken by them setting up at 4.30am in the morning). If this is important for you I would try and request a room on the upper floor away from the main road.

While the hotel was clean, there is zero air conditioning and for some reason the hot water seemed to be shut off the whole first day of our stay. Staff is friendly, the place is clean but I would recommend staying in the cooler months. SF was having a heatwave and sleep was miserable even with our little fan they had in the room for us. We love Hotel Boheme but this stay was unfortunately not the best.

This place is fantastic! Not only is it in a great location, it’s also unique and charming. What really amazed us though was the staff - friendly and highly accommodating. I highly recommend this hotel, we look forward to coming back.

Location was good, interiors were quaint and nostalgic There are extremely steep stairs to get into the property, and no offer of help with my large suitcases. A very out of place 90s alarm clock that went off inexplicably at 6am. When mentioned to the staff, there was no apology or explanation.

Chic and charming spot in the heart of North Beach. Note that room didn't have AC so you'll rely on windows and fan and breezy San Fransisco weather. Also was lacking a fridge for the room and access/complimentary water. Would come back!

This was a very convenient location to the venue we were playing at! The only hard part is parking! But the hotel was great!

The staff were extremely kind and knowledgeable about the area. It felt like a stay at a bed and breakfast.
