Starting with positive - The staff was very nice, helpful and informed. The common areas and lobby were drab and tired. The nicest part of the lobby floor was closed off. The rooms have zero art and decorating, blinds ugly, TV was terrible. I wish I could say better but it was really sad. This property needs a LOT OF WORK.

The night-shift staff treated us very well and I'm grateful to them. They also moved us to a bigger room. Something very unpleasant happened right when we arrived. After we entered the room, we left some of our things there and I went back to the car to get our suitcase. I closed the room door and left, but when I came back and used the key (yes, a key, since the hotel doors still open with traditional keys), the door wouldn't open. I thought my wife had locked it from the inside, so I asked her to open it, but she said she hadn't locked it and couldn't turn the latch because it was stuck. I tried everything and couldn't open it either. Finally, the night-shift receptionist, who was a very good man, came to help us, but he couldn't do anything either. In the end, after coordinating with his manager (who at first expected us to pay for it), they called a locksmith. The locksmith came, opened the door, and said the lock gets stuck. We had just arrived in San Francisco after about 8 hours of driving from Eugene, and this issue took about 2 hours. Overall, the hotel and the room atmosphere felt very gloomy, and we were not satisfied with our stay at all.

Great location, in the middle of bars and restaurants, walking distance to little Italy, clean rooms.

Parking was underground and very secure. Bed felt very firm but we slept well. No coffee or tea service anywhere.

Small but very clean and quiet rooms. No breakfast offered. Hotel had few additional amenities. Underground parking was convenient but cost $40 a night. Breakfast would have been nice!

The property was extremely clean and front desk staff were very helpful. The bed was comfortable. There was no coffee maker, microwave and it was a little noisy overnight from the outside - which is not your fault.
