I recommend this hotel

Disappointing

Good

Price was cheap, room was fairly clean. The location of the hotel is very bad. It is in a very dangerous and scary neighbourhood. As soon as you walk out of the hotel, it is full of homeless drugaddicts. I never felt safe outside this hotel. If you do stay, just make sure you uber everywhere. The windows of the hotel were very thin. If you opened or closed it, there was no difference. There were a few homeless people screaming outside my window all night. I was unable to sleep. Also the rooms were very small, and look way nicer online.

I would say this was pretty much as advertised, and a good value for a place to stay with easy access to the Bill Graham auditorium for a show. I would stay there again. That part of town is undeniably sketchy, certainly not the fault of the hotel, should know that before you reserve. Nobody bothered me and the walk to the Civic Center was fine.

The hotel was great, staff was friendly and professional, BUT area was scary, people doing crack/drugs on block right outside. It was like skid-row. We went to a concert just a couple blocks away at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium so booked this hotel for convenience and walkability. Big mistake as we ended up getting an Uber anyway and we were harassed every time we walked out of hotel. Too bad, such a nice, clean hotel on the inside. But horrible location on the outside. Can’t recommend.

My room had bed bugs , told staff about it and I wasn’t given a new room or anything , very disappointed with my stay

The check-in was a mess from the wrong group’s reservation, wrong name listed on ours, an issue with the deposit, and I was given the wrong WiFi password. The rooms don’t have an iron, there’s no shelf in the shower, and the AC was noisy.

I chose this hotel because it was close the Bill Graham auditorium. It took 20 minutes to check in. It difficult to understand the front desk agent. It was so hot in the hotel only to find out there was no ac. I was given a room with a window. All I heard was cursing, people shouting, singing and traffic. It was very difficult to sleep. On the bright side the room was clean and bed was comfortable enough. I was glad to go home.

Superb

Pros: The staff was friendly and helpful. Location is in a rougher neighborhood of SF but is close by to a lot of great stuff. Price for the hotel room is cheaper than pretty much every chain hotel/motel nearby. The communal bathrooms were very clean. Two amazing brunch spots within a two minute walk. The first room we were assigned had a guest already in it, which led to a very awkward moment. Staff was accommodating and made sure we had a room with a window all weekend. Cons: "Quiet rooms" are offered but don't have windows and feel very claustrophobic. We placed the "service please" on our door handle in the morning and our room was never cleaned or serviced that weekend, Other things to note: the rooms with windows are extremely noisy, and you can hear all the chaos happening on the streets below, our blinds didn't shut properly, mattress was comfortable but the cheap bed frame is extremely creaky and loud every time you shift or rollover at night, most of the channels on the TV didn't work, and the sliding door to our bathroom was off its hinge. Conclusion: Solid for traveling on a budget while still being in the heart of the city. If you're planning on using your room just for sleeping, this place is passable. However, it's noisy, the neighborhood is pretty rough, and do not expect any creature comforts or nice amenities.
