The owner/manager is super friendly and even offered to take my bags up some of the stairs (this is a hostel!!!) He gave me a full on tour, they have events almost every night, when I got there it was BBQ night on the roof. I thought I’d only get a snack but there was enough food for a full meal. Everyone, even the quiet people, ends up opening up because the common area is cozy and you can start a conversation. It was more social than hostels I’ve been to in the US, but maybe Americans are more open than Europeans. I had an issue with laundry and the manager solved it very amicably! I honestly wish I had stayed longer because the hostel and the city were a lot more fun than LA It’s not a wide open space so to speak. The bed is super comfy but the only window is in the bedroom. The common area is surrounded by walls. So if you want to like chill there all day maybe it’s not the place. The breakfast is do it yourself. So because it’s in Chinatown I ended up just buying breakfast most of the time.

Look no further; you've found the correct San Francisco hostel. The host was very kind, the facilities were excellent, and the price was very reasonable. A well equipped kitchen hosts family-style meals regularly, the atmosphere is clean and fun, and there are free left-behind toiletries available if you need them! The only reason you shouldn't stay here would be if you can't climb stairs (there are many) or if you want something between a private room and a large 8-person dorm.

Asad was a terrific host – very friendly and helpful! He chatted with me and other guests to get to know them n made you feel every bit of homeliness. The cozy place is clean, well-managed and efficient space! Now I understand why Elon Musk prefers functioning in a pod over a mansion! hh The stairs!!! But then it was a good free workout.

Stayed for 2 nights and this was my first time staying at a hostel (as a female traveler) but the host was very nice and helpful throughout the stay so I felt very comfortable. It was also very clean, especially the shared bathrooms, it was surprisingly so clean to the point I was in awe. I was placed on the top bunk because the room is full, it took me a hard time to climb up (lol) because I don’t have experience with it but it was very sturdy, you can trust on it. I was on a very tight schedule to a connecting flight so I didn’t get to enjoy the community nights or the shared space but they are decorated very cute and welcoming. Hope to comeback again soon to stay there longer and explore the city more. The location is also top tier, it’s close to everything and also all the different buses and transit are within walking distance plus, so many good food nearby! It also feel safe walking late nearby. Definitely not a quiet neighborhood at night because of the bar and stuff but noice is like the last thing I would care about living at a hostel so I don’t really mind at all. They also offer laundry service for some charges, it makes my life so much easier. I handed my laundry very late at night but got them back the next early morning so I get to pack my stuff up clean and continue to the next stops. This is all I can think about right now. Overall, very nice stay!
