King George Hotel

The location of the hotel was great. Close enough to downtown. Very close to the Nintendo store which I didnt realise when booking, but was a pleasant surprise. The rooms were decent but did not have a refrigerator which would have been nice, so there was no where to store food. The evelators were also no lt working during our stay, and the stair cases are extremely narrow, making it very difficult to carry luggage up the stairs especially when other people are trying to come down the stairs.

Now for the nits (and they are nits)...the bar was not open at all during our stay. When I asked for the hours, the hotel worker said it isn't open because they don't have a bartender currently. There are many places around the hotel to grab a drink, so it wasn't a big deal. Another nit was the design of our particular room. I don't know if others are built this way, so I will only speak for room 611. The tall tub/shower is very close to the toilet and sink so there is very little room to get in and out. Overall, we would definitely return for a future stay.

We stayed at the property for 6 nights. The staff were very helpful in answering our questions and quick to respond if we needed additional supplies in the room. The room was too small, with large office chair placed at the foot of the bed by the table crowding the space to navigate to other side. Decor was bit out dated but the bed was very comfortable.

I booked rooms here for members of my staff. The rooms themselves were adequate, but the noise was unacceptable. Between noise from the garage and people talking loudly, my staff had difficulty getting the rest they needed. They specifically asked me not to book this hotel for them again. My biggest disappointment, however, was the front desk service. I made and paid for the reservations using my email address and my credit card. The rooms were under my assistants’ names because they were the guests staying there. Since they had late flights and a very early and demanding work schedule the following morning, I stopped by in advance hoping to check everything in and have their keys ready when I personally picked them up from the airport. I completely understand the hotel’s policy of not releasing a key unless the registered guest is present. Security policies are important. What I found unacceptable was the way this was communicated. I was met with a level of suspicion and condescension that made me feel as though I were either trying to do something dishonest or was incapable of understanding a simple policy. I’m a business owner, I certainly understand being told no. A courteous explanation of the policy would have been the end of it. Lastly a team member developed dermatitis, the doctor said fabric and bedding could have caused it. There is no way to tell but it is coincidental

Location is excellent In room coffee maker did not work. Informed front desk, was not corrected. Last day elevator out of order, had to bring luggage down eight flights of stairs.

The Hotel was OK . Not worth the price though. There were annoying lights on the ceiling that were very bright which was not good if you like a dark room.

The location was good and convenient. However, the room was tiny and the carpet had many stains. Also, the shower stall was so small that water kept splashing everywhere (outside of the stall).

The lobby area is great, so we're the staff. Rooms are relatively small but comfortable. Bed was quite soft, bathroom had no exhaust fan so it got steamy very quickly. The location was superb and the value for money exceptional. This wasn't our first stay here and it won't be the last!

Great no frills hotel. Carpet in room was a bit stained, but was impressed with. Yah tub. Staff very friendly and location is handy. Rooms a bit small, but what do you expect? Really good value.

I have stayed here 3 times so far. It is now the default place when I go to SF to play tourist. The location is convenient and the staff are always friendly and helpful.

The hotel and staff were great but our room was right next to the elevator so it was very noisy all night.
