Reviews
-
Excellent staff, very clean Hotel, extremely reasonable price, and close to everything.
-
The mold in the bathroom was a slight issue.
-
Great room and close to a lot of things
-
Friendly staff. Great value for money. Ideal location in the city.
-
Cute place. Loved their lobby lounge.
-
Wish they had free parking or just parking

Locks didn't work on the 4th floor, so they "upgraded" me to a room with 7ft ceilings on the 1st. If that was the upgrade, I'd hate to see what my original room looks like.

Wonderful location near Union Square and downtown Market street and all the mass transit. Cold rooms but you can request a heater and mini refrigerator. Many eateries near by. Microwaves in lobby lounge for use. Very British. Even has a red British phone booth. Very friendly staff. Reasonably priced.

Very good location

Staff were extremely helpful and warm. Location was superb; easy to walk around and conveniently located. It's not as modern but it has what you need.

Loved my stay! Room had a great view I never wanted to leave.

Love the charm of the King George. It is convenient to shops and restaurants. The only issue is the slow elevator. The stairs are fun because they go straight up, But you could not get your luggage up the elevator. Minor inconvenience, but something to note.

Super clean, smelled great, wonderful staff, super cute hotel, fine location.

There was no hot water on the night I arrived at 8:00p.m. Friday 8/7/26. I informed management that the in house mechanic did not fix the hot water. Management did not apologize and only said the water would get hot but it never did even after letting it run 20 minutes.

An older property at a fair price. You get what you pay for.
-
lobby area and reception are nice but the rooms are small and not very nice.

We really enjoyed this old quirky hotel. It was so full of charm. The beds were so comfortable and the rooms were clean and homey. I really enjoyed my stay and would for sure stay again. There was a parking garage right across the street that was super reasonable. Over all it was a great place to stay.

Excellent location and a wonderful place to stay in the heart of San Francisco. The hotel offers free morning coffee and snacks for all guests, which is a great way to start the day. The staff are extremely friendly, welcoming, and helpful - they even allowed us to check in an hour early and provided free luggage storage both before check-in and after checkout. This made exploring the city so much easier without extra hassle. The rooms feel safe and comfortable, and the lock system is very secure. Kids enjoyed playing board games. Our stay was truly enjoyable. Daily room-cleaning service was consistently excellent, and the fridge was available upon request, which was convenient. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would definitely stay here again. Thank you for making our trip better.

The staff was super nice , friendly and very helpful. The breakfast included some pastries and coffee, which was a nice gesture and appreciated. However, the rooms were not well maintained and the property feels very old fashioned. The bathroom door was broken and would not close properly. The carpet in the room was also very old and definitely needs to be replaced. On the positive side, the water pressure was surprisingly good. Overall, the staff was wonderful, but the property and the rooms are in need of some updating and better maintenance.
