Loved it for my birthday solo weekend! Beautiful building and delicious restaurant just in the lobby!
-
Walls are thin we could hear our neighbors having sex. The bathroom door was shared to the neighbors room so we could smell and hear every bathroom action.
-
Stayed in the penthouse. Room was nice and clean with great views. Jacuzzi tub controls were broken so no jets. Kind of a bummer. And the elevator is ancient but kind of fun.

I booked a garden suite and the toilet was broken. The fan didn’t work and the paint was peeling off the walls. There was also ants in the bathroom when I asked to be moved to a different room. They told me there wasn’t anyone I looked online and they’re definitely was.

Nice hotel, clean.

During our stay, not only did we find this out, but our AC unit started dripping on the floor, and we were told by front desk that the maintenance team had left for the day and someone would come tomorrow (it took nearly 24h for someone to come and look), somebody tried to get into our room (presumably to clean) at 7am in the morning, which is absurdly early, and we ran out of hot water on one night. When we were given a different room key because of this, the other room also had no hot water. We were given 3 different rooms in 3 days because of these issues, and the front desk staff were unequipped to deal with these issues. The manager ignored both their and our own phone calls and emails. Overall a very stressful stay and I would not recommend.

Had one of the two penthouse units. Liked the room a lot but the room needed maintenance. Bathroom faucet and shower-head were trash. Also shower stall had black mold that needs to be cleaned.

Wifi was spotty. Toilet didn't flush well. Only 5 tv channels.

Perfect!

I would never go back to this hotel. Poor service and maintenance! Plus the hotel is old needs current renovations. My husband I encountered so many issues that were never resolved. We were told 20% credit would be issued to us for the inconvenience but it hasn't come through Expedia. Here are a few of the issues: 1-TV didn't work most of the time. Only 2-3 channels would show, plus the channel numbers would change. 2-Staff: 2 out of 3 front desk workers didn't speak / understand English well. They didn't convey our issues correctly to maintenance. 3-Sink didn't drain completely, which was awful in the morning! 4-A disturbing sound would intermittently be heard coming from the refrigerator, wall or TV. It interrupted our sleep in the night. We didn't know for sure where the sound was coming from or what triggered it. Overall a bad experience! I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.

Great hotel! Nice breakfast included! Good value!

It was a okay stay for me. Very basic breakfast. The room was clean but too small even for 1 person. The toilet was clean but was leaking water. It's not in a nice neighborhood but public transportation is accessible in a few blocks.

We booked the penthouse suite as a little couples get away for the night and it was perfect! only issue was the hot tub inside the room wasn’t working which they didn’t tell us before hand.

The hotel wasn’t any help.

The stay was alright. There was room for better cleaning. Our pillow cases had stains/makeup on them, and there were still remnants of hair in the corners of the room. Walls are a bit thin and you can hear sound permeating through the hotel. Otherwise it served its purpose for duration of time that we stayed

Horrible experience!!! This should be listed at a 2 star hotel. Very upset with expedia for listing it as 4 star. I don't even want to walk by it on the street!

Room was clean and comfortable.
-
The room was big and had robes, which was nice. The bed was clean and comfortable. Hooks in the bathroom would be nice. The breakfast was very small- just bread, 2 cereals, yogurt and coffee.

We stayed in the Penthouse Suite, which was a fun experience. The corner windows offered great city views. Just don't look too closely at some of the neighboring rooftops—they're a reminder you're still in the city. 😊 One thing future guests should know is that the hotel sits close to the Tenderloin. We never felt unsafe, but if you're walking around, it's worth being aware of your surroundings and avoiding wandering too far east, especially after dark. My only real complaint was the bathroom light. It's on a motion sensor, so whenever someone walked past our room in the hallway, the light would switch on, which was a little annoying while trying to sleep. There is also a balcony, but it felt a bit dated, so we didn't end up using it. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone looking for a charming, 1906 historic hotel in Nob Hill.

Our stay was just ok. Hotel was advised that we were stuck at airport and our flight was cancelled and rescheduled but hotel would not accommodate that one day we missed even with it not being our fault. We were never told anything upon checking in and nothing in the room to explain how to get ice, how to use tv or phone etc. hot tube was missing knobs to use, our tv did not work, kept saying no signal and remote was not working half the time.Stains on the walls that we cleaned with ourself because it grossed us out like old food stains. Sheets smell so bad of bleach it gave me a headache. For the price, we were not expecting this of a penthouse room. No microwave at all, and they did not tell us where community microwave was. No vending machines or anything at all. This is just a place to stay to change clothes or get a nap and that’s all. We did enjoy having a patio area and the view from the room was ok with privacy. It was quiet and we only had 1 neighbor so the walls were thick and quiet for us. Air condition worked properly and water was hot for baths.
