Palihotel San Francisco

Great location, nicely redone hotel

It’s a great hotel and part of a great group of hotels. They cannot do anything about their location - but street traffic can be very noisy in the morning.

Nice stay in downtown San Francisco!

Wouldn’t stay again.

Location and value for price. Room size was very large.

Typical of Palihotels. It’s an old building remodeled with a new vintage aesthetic. Visually very appealing, however there are usually some issues that pop-up with an old building. Plumbing is an issue and the elevator is usually slow. That being said, the staff is great as always and the bar/restaurant is top notch. The rooms all have mini-splits so climate control is better than many typical hotels in the area. Location is great with parking directly across the street. Price was very reasonable for what you get. All-in-all I would absolutely stay here again. However, if you are planning on staying at any Palihotel expect an older building that comes with some sort of very slight complication.

Extremely dirty car

Nice hotel and historic building, loved the style of the rooms and the vibe of the place. Warning that public parking at the recommended lot across from the hotel will charge you $46 per night. And there is no validation from the hotel, AND you cannot take your car in and out, so you will have to use public transportation or else they will charge you an additional hourly rate. It would be nice if there was some form of parking option offered by the hotel, or at least discounted rates. You will also have to carry your bags from the lot across all the way to the hotel, not a totally long commute, but inconvenient if you are looking for something more comfortable. I’ve stayed at other Pali hotels and didn’t have this experience, but I think it’s just the location that made this the case. So future guests just be aware. The bar is super nice though! And the bartender Hannah was so kind. Also the location in the city is very convenient and right next to the bus stop, so that made getting around easy.

Amazing room at a great rate. Thoroughly impressed.

We were confused about some of the amenities, like whether there was coffee available in the morning or maybe a complimentary drink at the bar, and couldn't find the information online. We admittedly didn't wind up asking about it until our last day at the property, but it would have been helpful to be verbally informed of the options when we checked in.

Clean and cute! I got a room facing a brick wall which was disappointing but no big deal as the location had us out and about. Walking distance to Chinatown which I recommend walking through. Shopping down the street! I felt safe and staff was great. Cute martini bar with amazing service and delicious drinks! I would stay here again.

The hotel was nice!

The Pali delivers the "cool factor" as it does across all of their properties, and he location is ideal for navigating SF with a convenient security enhanced parking lot across the street. My only complaint were the amenities. There was no creamer for coffee, no complimentary water, and the bathroom amenities were very limited.

Manager was moody and had the team on edge they seemed to be stressed as they were doing their jobs.

I did a last minute change to this hotel and they were so helpful and kind. I would recommend and plan on staying here again in the future.

We visited as part of our honeymoon and the team kindly upgraded our room and gifted us with champagne which was really special. All staff were lovely, clean rooms, bar drinks were awesome and the location was close to transport and other key neighborhoods. Definitely recommend!

I loved the decor and the bartender Hannah in the bar went above and beyond to be helpful and made me feel welcome. There was no microwave or free water and the refrigerator was essentially unusable because it was filled with beverages for sale. The parking was also problematic. I loved the retro feel of the door on the elevator!

The front desk staff are absolute stars! They were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to be helpful. The bar staff were also extremely friendly and helpful with providing their suggestions for restaurants and overall SF attractions. You can tell everyone is truly happy to be there and all guests felt it. Thank you!

Convenient location. Rooms are nice enough but minimalist in style - no tables/surface areas to put stuff. Room was clean but both days of our stay they didn’t refresh our room - complained both days but only on the second day they found someone to refresh. Our room faced away from the street into an internal ‘courtyard’ full of pigeons who woke us up every morning at 4am. Overall, a convenient spot if you want to be central but wouldn’t highly recommend.
