There was no working shower or bathtub in their room

The sleeper couch was part of a sectional and didn’t sleep anyone but a child. The bathtub with jets didn’t work

Bedsheets were stained, fan was missing in the bathroom. Really strong smell of cleaning chemicals in the room.

No hate towards the motel but it’s a busy and loud street with no sound cancellation. It’s incredibly loud so it’s a tough sleep situation just bring something to help it or a lot of melatonin!

The property was clean and while there were no amenities if you asked for something, like more toilet paper or something they were happy to help you with that. Privacy is big for me and they never went into the room, so that gave me piece of mind. There were big trash cans on every floor so you can dump the trash in there no problem. All in all a great place to stay, though I would bring my own towels next time I go there like I did this time.

They couldn’t get their key cards working for hours, it would’ve been nice to let us in check in a little earlier as a favor But it didn’t throw us off too much You get what you pay for and I appreciate having a cheap stay with free parking in San Francisco walking distance to many things. The front desk guy was super friendly to me and gave us all the tips and tricks for the area. They no longer offer free breakfast and it should be removed from their hotels.com ad, because that was one of the reasons we stayed. Mainly it was for the free parking though, which will run you an additional $20-$40 a night in San Francisco typically. It is first come first serve. I think they said they have 27 parking spots and 37 rooms so not everyone will get it. And the parking spaces are super tiny, I was able to squeeze into one, but I saw some people double parking.

Small parking lot so you’re only allowed one vehicle per room and street parking can be difficult in the area. Definitely an older property but the night audit man was very nice and the stay was just fine. Would stay again. Great location very walkable!

Good off street parking. Kinda tight but free. Both down from Chestnut St for shopping, food and drinks. Quick walk to the waterfront. Couple blocks the other way, Union Street. More of the same.

The hotel was conveniently located to bus routes for all the points of interest we visited. The price was budget friendly and the neighborhood was safe. We did a neighborhood walk at night with our child and did not encounter any issues.

old looking towels bed was ok no hair dryer, neighbor hood very noisy issue with opening door lock over all not very happy at all.

Parking is pretty tight. If you’re looking to stay just for a night, it’s alright.

The motel definitely needs some upgrades and friendlier staff . Air conditioning cool use upgrade and parking was fairly well .

Having a mini fridge and microwave was a great amenity. The bed was comfortable, the room and bathroom were clean. The TV was small and a little tricky to operate at first, but the instructions from the front office helped. Would have loved a larger screen. Didn’t use parking on this stay. Noise levels (outside and on the floor above) were about average for a motel of this size. I’m glad I chose Surf Motel and would stay here again.

Usual business trip, great stay as per usual.

The location was great. The room was okay. Clean , but it had its issues. A lot of the outlets would not work. Our door key would randomly not work , but if you kept trying I could always get in. Not enough reason to complain. NO shower pressure at all in room 309.
