Good job but I have to walk to Stafford Hotel and make an payment. Then I have to walk to the Herbert Hotel to next block. It is so strange but it is interesting.

I always have a fantastic time at the HERBERT HOTEL Theres always a first for every thing. I've stayed countless times overs the years. Not one time did any room that I requested be without a mini fridge, maybe I've been lucky. I did need to have them bring one in. While the houseman was there I handed him 2 lightbulbs that needed replacing, that's is half the lighting for the room, I never did see those bulbs replaced. I found out also the blow dryer did not work, I did get another one, not only did the dryer not work , also the outlet was also not working. I also had a lot of trouble with the wifi going in and out, I had to use my hot spot from my phone it will stay for my go to hotel along with my visiting friends, I always recommend. . Ohh one more thing , I had a wrinkled shirt, and it stayed while due the brown stayed surface of the iron. Which I luckily caught the stain B4 hitting my shirt. ATTENTION TO DETAIL, IS A MUST WITH A HOTEL.

Very good hotel with a great location.

The room was admittedly larger than the photos, but it wasn’t great. The window didn’t fully close, as so it was always cold and loud. The tub didn’t drain. There were purple hand prints all over the bathroom. Almost no storage space in the bathroom. Shower head leaked. About a day into my visit, I received a message asking about my stay. I texted a brief response about the window, but it turned out to be an automated message, telling me to reach out to the front desk. I was too busy to reach out about all these details, so I can’t speak to the effectiveness of the service.

I was super disappointed. The rooms looked quaint on the pictures, but it was a terrible experience. There was blood on the ironing board, the shower curtains had holes which means that every time you shower there is water everywhere, the sheets were too short and did not cover the full bed which is not hygienic at all and the shampoo/soap/conditioner bottles were so hold that there was phase séparation and looked moldy. Additionally, the staff at the other hotel that checks you in were rude and it looked like I was annoying them by being there. The only good thing is the entrance is safe and you need your card to go in the elevator so at least that felt safe.

It was perfect! Cozy, clean, safe! Great area near everything!

Location Noise.

Location Price, no staff, no room makeup, beds were uncomfortable, noise, dirty bath
-
New experience for me and it was nice. I think my adult children and I will try this type of lodging at our next adventure.

It felt close to what we wanted to do. Just small rooms but still good.
-
It was convenient to Powell St. BART station

Avoid this hotel: shared old toilets outside the room. And the worst they lock you out of the room 1h before check-out and nobody works at the hotel, you have to walk to another hotel to reactivate the key. One of us got blocked going to the shower and had to walk a whole block in a shower towel to fix it.

Good location near the metro. Ramen restaurant in the corner is open late and is a must!! Overall, good experience

This was such a great value for money! The location was perfect and the beds were suuuuuper comfortable with great pillows. The hotel was also VERY quiet. I will definitely be staying here again.

Location, location, location! Just know that the closest and bestest garage to park in is one block back on the NW corner of Ofarrel and Mason. There is a rental car agency on the ground floor. Another BIG note, check is kitty corner and 1/2 block up Powell at the Hotel Stratford. You must check in there before you will be able to get into the Herbert!!! Id suggest, dropping someone in your party at the herbert, park, check in, then help each other up. If alone, you can walk 60yards with your bags after checking in so, drop you bags quickly at the stratford Hotel, park, check in, then walk back to the Herbert.

The location was superb. It was easy to navigate around without stress. The fact that the room was not cleaned daily and there was nobody on site to talk to.

Not the best, not the worst. Pros, great location very walkable, large room, secure building, quiet, great view, our room had a shower/toilet, not all rooms do. Cons, no actual staff on the premises, no bathroom soap, no body wash, cleanliness could have been better, no mini fridge, no ac. Also, not sure why there was a shower cap on the smoke detector..kind of a safety hazard.

It’s clean, descent, reasonable price. If you need room service like cleaning the room, you have to pay extra.
