There were an empty candy looking box in the hotel that wasn’t picked up. Parking is not free, it cost $78 per night plus tax.

We arrived about 45 minutes after the check-in time of 3 PM. It took about half an hour to get checked in as there were four parties needing to be checked in and only one staff member to help guests, and he seemed a bit overwhelmed. That said, he was friendly and made recommendations for places for us to go while in the city. I did find it odd that by the time he was ready to assign a room to us he had to check to see that the room was ready, even though it was after 4 PM by this point, more than an hour past the hotel’s check-in time. We finally got checked in and up to our room and I went to close all the blinds on the windows and there were underwear hanging from one of the window latches. I called down to guest services informing them of the underwear, but it was quite a bit of time before anyone came up to retrieve them from our room. Given the underwear on the window, a cosmetic cap on the bathroom floor, as well as a sticky TV remote, I didn’t have much faith that the room was thoroughly cleaned. I’m not really sure how this hotel has such a great rating, but I would not stay here again.

Great place to stay in SF! We will be back!
-
Central location, helpful and quick to act staff and very interesting selection of antique books in the hotel room and lounge!
-
Great central location. Clean rooms with plenty of space. Great staff

The staff were so friendly. The breakfast was a simple kind. Fireplace worked. But the tv never worked

What a cute hotel! Loved the location, walked everywhere. Vintage and comfy. Staff great and extended continental breakfast WAY MORE than expected! We will stay here again! It was quiet and convenient. Extra bonus to have a fireplace even!

As soon as we arrived, Cody was a great asset to our stay. He gave us such helpful information as to where to eat, how to get around, and even where to park for a better deal. He really enhanced our stay. The room was large and very nicely decorated. We enjoyed the wine and nibbles the first evening and breakfast both mornings. The inn was quiet and had great amenities, such as microwave, refrigerator, robes, and even a box fan that really helped to circulate air. I'm very pleased with our stay and would definitely recommend this to any one staying in the area.

We loved the antique elevator, the wine and nibbles in the evening, the welcoming wine bottle in the room, there’s so many little gems at this hotel. We can’t wait to stay here again!

The place is quaint. They have a happy hour that was wonderful and they had cute little rooms with fireplaces. And they had a nice little breakfast down there in the little rooms with the fireplaces the next morning.

This is not a typical modern hotel, but a somewhat old fashioned bed and breakfast. It is very conveniently located near Union Square, the Powell St Bart stop, the trolley, and plenty of sights and restaurants. We also walked to Chinatown, Fisherman's Wharf and Ghiradelli square, which is a bit hilly. The hotel itself is charming, spacious, clean, and staffed by very friendly and helpful people. The bed is comfortable. The room is big and has a gas fire place. The breakfast included toast, eggs, oatmeal, fruit and my favorite thing, the cinnamon bun breakfast bread! We also enjoyed the very pleasant wine and cheese reception before dinner. For both, the staff was attentive and gracious and the offerings were generous. Alas, a very minor dissatisfaction, was the street noise on Bush St, which required closing the windows. But, given the opportunity, I would most definitely stay at the White Swan Inn again. Thank you all, for making our stay very enjoyable.

The White Swan Inn is a quaint hotel in a convenient area of San Francisco. We were able to walk or take public transportation to see all the highlights of the city. The inn was clean and offered a nice breakfast.
-
The rooms are a little too dated. The room was very stuffy so we had to open Windows and there was no screens. There are not enough Outlets in the room. Also I am 5 ft 2 and it was very difficult for me to climb up into the bed. I know a lot of it has to do with the charm but some updates would make it more comfortable.

Very clean. Staff is amazing. Breakfast is way too basic, can be a bit better. Overall an amazing stay for a good price

CLEAN AND SPACIOUS ROOM . HOOMEY PUBLIC SPACES. VERY GOOD BREAKFAST. THE ELEVATOR IS OLD BUT WORKS . HIGHLY RECOMMANDED
-
Musty room, but I loved the fire escape. Breakfast options were not great. Bed felt a little "itchy"

They offered breakfast. Easy check-in. Good location. The room was nice, but no A/C and everything feels dated and not intentional. Overall, the place just needs attention. It's nice enough and my stay was fine. But it felt dirty and like it was neglected in general. I see that it could be amazing, but right now it still needs to be updated, even with the retro theme.

A very nice boutique hotel. The room was large and comfortable, with a great fireplace and big windows. The wine and nibbles in the afternoon, as well as the all-day coffee and tea were a great bonus.
