Other than that I liked this hotel.

Guest need to be told before booking that there are a number of stairs and that there is no one at the front desk throughout the day.

Friendly staff.

Great hotel

My son and I really enjoyed our stay. It’s the thoughtful experience such as wine and nibbles, the continental breakfast, and the interesting curation of art that really made it special. Thank you. I definitely plan on coming back with my girlfriends.

Very clean and charming room. Staff was super helpful. We enjoyed our stay.

I requested a quiet room and got one. The location is great and all the staff are too. It is old and the room smelled musty.

Absolutely beautiful place and the service is amazing . Staff went out of their way to help in any way they could . We stayed in the Petite suite and wow what a jewel in the middle of the city ! Very spacious room with a huge patio area and a fire place with a bottle of wine waiting on us on arrival ! Wine and cheese time was great and breakfast was amazing the next morning . I will definitely stay there again on my next visit !

Very good 3 start hotel. It's clean and offers excellent value for Sf

Location price and staff very good Bed too soft for me (I like a firm bed) duvet was just 2 flat sheets sandwiching a duvet - better and more hygienic to have actual duvet cover. Only soy milk at breakfast (no one drinks soy milk - rather oat or almond much more common). Walls thin and lots of street noise (bring earplugs if light sleeper!)

I liked my stay very much. The room is decorated in the old fashioned way with a high attention to the details. Everything was very clean, and the fireplace in the room was above my expectations. 24/7 you have free access to the tea/coffee/cacao station in the basement. Breakfast is served in another hotel (a building is next to this), same beautiful “old world” style with working fireplaces! I can say honestly that the breakfast could have more options but still considering the location, the quality of renovation, the atmosphere, and quietness, it’s worth its money. I did not see any homeless people around the hotel during the stay. Like, at all. The area was very clean. Hotel takes additional charge if you want to leave the luggage for a few hours before or after your stay. I think that it’s more than possible to allow guests to leave a bag for free (as all other hotels do). Also, it would be great to leave a card with instructions of how to turn on the fireplace… I figured it out only on the second day. Still I enjoyed the stay very much.

amazing breakfast, great location, easy parking, fun decoration, friendly & helpful staff.

Nice little hotel right in the middle of the city. Close to everything, but remarkably quiet at night. The staff was amazing, the location excellent, the decor in our room tired. It was clean, but tired. Really could use an update. Also, we suggest you get a different pastry vendor for your breakfast pastries. They were dry and stale. But the oatmeal was fantastic, as was the wine and cheese hour. The common area in The White Swan was also lovely. Next time we might stay there instead.

Loved the complimentary wine and nibbles and also the complimentary breakfast too. But the best part was knowledgeable the staff was. They were so helpful with regards to making the best of our trip to SF. I highly recommend staying here and will be telling all of my friends about it too.

Enjoyed this cute little hotel. Very attentive & friendly staff, little perks like wine & nibbles were welcome & other guests were friendly- nice to sit and chat with travelers. Great location, blocks from Union Square and surprisingly quiet. Will be back.

The Petite Auberge is a nice little hotel in a 115 year old building. The location is great, perfect walking distance to Union Sq, Nob Hill, China town, etc. Old buildings are very charming and I personally love them but it being an old building, the floors do squeak and creak so it was a bit annoying that our guests upstairs happen to be pacers at all hours of the night so that was a little difficult to sleep with. Just remember it's an old building and it is furnished in an old style, so don't expect modern amenities. But if you appreciate vintage little unique hotels that have a birdcage elevator and a fireplace, this is a great place for you. I'm sure we will be staying there again.

I liked the location and the bed was comfortable It was quite noisy, not just outside, but also the floor above me made all sorts of noise. The breakfast was nothing special and no parking, which isn’t unusual. Overall, not a good value for the price.

Great location. There are plenty of bars and restaurants nearby, within walking distance. I would definitely stay here again.
