Located in high volume homeless area but there is a great security presence in sf at night now and felt safe coming and going.

We were a family of 5, from the UK, including 3 teens aged 17, 15 and 13. The hotel is only 15 mins walk from Union Square. Yes, it does have some homeless people and drug addicts on the streets nearby....but unfortunately thats San Fran city centre these days! We disnt feel particularly unsafe, it was just sad to see really....and a good lesson for the kids on why not to do drugs!!! You could stay in a Hilton 10 mins walk up the street and you will see the same thing when you leave your hotel. Also, you can leave the hotel and jump straight on a street car if you dont want to walk. Overall, awesome value lovely hotel in a v Central location to enable you to see all the sights from.

Unique rooms. Very small with limited space to relax. Keep that in mind when booking. Breakfast selection was limited but enjoyable. Staff were nice, but keep in mind the place is heavily automated with digital check in and checkout.

Clean and nice looking concept. But the rooms are very small, they don’t look like the pictures. Studio style rooms with the bathroom and shower aren’t inclosed, they connect to the room. when you go to the bathroom you can hear and smell. Very deceptive hotel, clean but not worth the price. Room TV connection lags. Air conditioning only lets you go to 67 but room stays hot. Also beverage that is included in your stay is a bottle of Arrowhead, not the drinks in the lobby . 3/10 I will never stay here again because it doesn’t match my personal preferences .

I love that they have a whole area where you can eat and heat up food items as well as a fridge to store food. The rooms were very modern and love the vibe.

Definitely one of the better and well-kept budget hotels on Market, but the street outside is as bad as others say. Gym was nice. The loft style room was interesting but I made it work for a solo traveler. Would not book with another person because of open bathroom.

Breakfast rating is 2 out of 5 stars The neighborhood is 1 out of 5 stars It was 15-20 minutes from the Fisherman's Wharf, so the Uber was $15 or more each way.
-
Small room but had all needed and in good location downtown.
-
Perfect kind of place for when all you need is a bed and a bathroom
-
The website had incorrect instructions for use of the internet. Which was down all together for two of my three nights. But I still couldn’t connect as the staff was not friendly and on line it said just log in but it required a password and the website didn’t say that. The neighborhood is what’s expected in soma. Very small very small rooms. I shan’t be visiting again

The “smart” room needs some tweaks. I was unable to shut off the main light in the room because there were no instructions. I literally scoured the internet for instructions but no go. Found out i the morning that I had to press the dimmer switch twice - not sure how I was supposed to know that! Room was small but space was used efficiently. Smart bed was cool. Towel heater didn’t work. Location is convenient but it’s a rough neighborhood that may put some people off. Would stay again now that I know how to turn off the damn light
-
Too many homeless people outside hotel and stinky street too.
-
I couldn’t figure out how to switch on the shower head as it stuck on the handheld mode. The faucets had low flow heads that made it difficult to wash your hands.
-
Good hotel, nothing amazing, but overall solid.

Super cute rooms. Loved the vibe of the hotel! Staff was friendly. Parking was a nightmare. The area felt a little unsafe but no one bothered me when I was walking for transparency. Still best sleep I’ve had in a hotel in a long time!
