Arrived early and was told there was no parking. We had to park a block away in a garage while there were 3 open spots there all night that could have been used for my family to park in. Rooms had a strange smell to them.
-
Unfortunately, the property itself left a lot to be desired. The elevator did not feel safe. It would sometimes open before reaching the correct floor and the overall cleanliness of the hotel could have been better. The complimentary breakfast was also disappointing, consisting of only a pastry and a cold egg tart with no other options available. Overall, the location is the main advantage, but the hotel experience itself was underwhelming.
-
The Room was ok but the bathroom is incredibly small and not well maintained. We almost got stuck in the elevator the first day so we took the stairs up three floors the rest of the time. The street is loud and not a safe area, making it not child friendly! The door to the hotel rooms doesn't even have a second lock for added safety so we felt unsecured. The pool is across the busy street, not even at this location. We checked out early for a safer place.

Very nice, love how pretty the hotel was.
-
The rooms are fresh and modern, however there was no A/C in our room and it was quite stuffy and hard to keep our windows open. We loved the breakfast, so good!! The staff was very helpful as they gave restaurant recommendations and let us store our luggage for a while while we picked up our rental car. Overall, a good stay!
-
Breakfast was amazing, egg bites are truly good. Room was super clean, employees looked happy and kind. even though the neighborhood is not the best, this hotel deserves an 5star rate.
-
Amenities were good in the room and lobby. Parking is not guaranteed.
-
The only option I had was to leave the window open to air out the room. Unfortunately, that created another problem—the street outside was incredibly noisy. Around 2:00 a.m., homeless people were shouting loudly outside, making it almost impossible to get a good night's sleep. Overall, this was one of the worst hotel experiences I've had. I would not recommend staying here unless the hotel improves both the room conditions and the noise situation.

Great stuff. Great breakfast, very clean room and also great location.
-
I come to San Francisco a lot, and the Garret is by far this is the most budget friendly, cleanest hotel with the best staff around ! Would highly recommend for business, family or friends . Gabriel at the front desk is magnificent!
-
The stay was nice! Please do your research on which rooms have Air conditioning and which dont! We stayed in the executive suite and there was no Air Conditioning. The hotel is about 30 min from the Wharf area, so getting a car will be useful.
-
Simple breakfast but wonderful and good enough. Thank you.
-
Small breakfast and offsite pool, but otherwise an amazing hotel. When I come back to SF, I will be staying here again.

The property was ok. Decently clean, a very standard room. Be weary of the area it is not safe. I witnessed my first ever shooting a street over that was pretty traumatizing so heads up about that. I would stay in a safer area.

At first I was afraid because of the bad reviews, but my experience was very good. I posted that I wanted privacy in my room and nobody came in. Sleeping was peaceful. There are homeless people nearby, but None of that affected your stay. The only bad thing was the parking; they didn't have any and I had to find one outside. Otherwise, everything was fine. The continental breakfast that everyone complains about, I think was wonderful The eggs and croissants were delicious. They clearly state that you get your deposit back within 24 to 72 hours, but please be mindful not to damage the property or smoke, as they clean to remove the smoke It's expensive, and if you deliberately indulge your vice, be prepared to forfeit your deposit. Everything seems fine and proper, but if you're not being proper, enjoy the consequences.

Property is very nice. The bed very comfortable with clean, newer linens. I have stayed here 3 or 4 times. You do pay extra for parking with in and out privileges. This hotel would be perfect except for three things: check in is at 4pm, not 3pm, no microwave in the room and no refrigerator in the rooms.
-
Check in went well and desk person was friendly. We had arrived early into town and they held our bags for us while we went out. Room was a little warm when we got into it and we didn’t realize there wasn’t any AC. We opened the window to let the air in and out the ceiling fan on high. We asked for a fan that night as one person in our group was hot. They were nice enough to bring it up quickly after I called. Overall we had a good stay both nights. The area appeared safe at night although there was a person in the building across the street yelling obscenities from her window. There was a security guard outside the hotel entrance and you had to swipe your room key to get into the building and to get on the elevator. We felt safe.
-
Older building vibes but super clean ‘ the staff was helpful thru the whole trip and I love that they have security in the parking lot for a safer feeling
-
not so clean
-
however, I still was witness to people using fentanyl openly in the parking lot behind the cars as well as shooting up in their room with the doors open, we heard arguing all morning in the unit next-door to us and somebody broke a window in the room during their drug fueled escapade. This location absolutely needs more security and probably better housekeeping as there were stains all over our carpet- there are no fridges the most basic cable and a definite lack of amenities.
