Hotel Garrett

Executive king room was large, clean and comfortable.. Soma across the road had excellent breakfast menu. Accommodating staff. Booking.com info is outdated. There is no daily breakfast only tea and coffee served in the lobby. Location is not the best. Not too many bars or restaurants nearby (other than Soma) I wouldn't be keen on walking in the area at night.

The property was really close to the BART station which was so convenient! The staff were helpful and accommodated my room change request right away when I discovered the shower wouldn’t drain. I really appreciated the security and that the front door was locked unless you had a key. I liked the water refill station as well. Firstly, the elevator was not in great condition. We originally stayed on the 3rd floor and the down button didn’t work so you had to press the up button in order to call the lift to you then select what floor you needed to go to regardless if you needed to move up or down floors. Next, I had to change rooms because unfortunately the original room was extremely disappointing. The lights near the sink didn’t work and would flicker or just randomly turn on or off. The shower would not drain. The bathroom was really really old and clearly had not been updated in years. The room was super cramped and just a little mention that there was no blow dryer. Definitely did not look like the picture. The walls are super thin and we clearly heard every word a couple screaming at each other and fighting in the room next door were saying. But the staff did report to our call immediately when we asked them to come upstairs. The staff were really kind throughout our stay and helpful. We honestly should have changed rooms sooner but hindsight. The new room almost seemed like it was in a completely different hotel. It was spacious and clean. There was a mini fridge, it was well lit, a blow dryer and a robe, the shower drained well (but the water pressure was weak) and it was just overall a better room.

Housekeeping did not do a complete job . Rooms were small and no ac for “Superior” rooms

It's a an old building but well maintained, the only issue I had was the elevator wasn't working upon check in and the front desk lady didn't know how to access the stairs. The bed and room were fine if a bit hot. Could use some ac in the rooms, but it was a great location and the rooms were clean.

Decent hotel, terrible area.

the room was clean, the staff were super friendly and available 24/7, they have security 24/7 also. on site parking would be a plus but overall would stay again

The staff was very nice. However, our A/C was broken the entire trip, the bathroom sink was leaking onto the floor, and our room was very noisy at night due to the homeless population on the street.

Bed was comfortable The neighborhood is sketchy, the breakfast was coffee only and it wasn't good, the elevator was old and cranky, shower is a cubicle, room door is not sealed so it keeps rumbling with the wind

Staff acted on my requests immediately Did not like thar i booked a dissbility access room and found put was unable to access shpwer as i had to climb over the top of a bathtub. Even tjough i had specifically booked and management had confirmed it was a disability acces room. Was moved to a smaller room
