There were positives and negatives about this hotel, but overall I give it a 2 star review and would not recommend it to others. As a family of 3 traveling together, it was great to find a hotel with two separate rooms in our suite and to have free parking. The breakfast each morning was lacking, with no lids for the hot beverages, basic cereal, and pastries we could have bought at a gas station. The elevators were not working and thus even though we had a first floor room, we still had to haul out suitcases up two flights of stairs (the parking takes up the first floor). Despite having the sign on the front door requesting room service. Housekeeping never made our beds or changed our sheets during our 7 night stay. We had to ask for housekeeping to empty our trash or refill supplies we used. And it was awful that the front desk staff were never at the front desk, they constantly stayed in the back office and several times we had to call out loudly for them to get service and help. When we arrived our coffee pot had been left on, with coffee still in the carafe. This resulted in molded burnt coffee in the carafe. We took it down to the front desk and were never given a replacement. Also, while parking was free (yay) it was definitely made for compact cars. And if you didn't get your the hotel by early evening there were no more spaces and you had to park several blocks away and pay.

I’ve been coming to this location for more than 20 years, before and after the Remodeling. The facility was impeccable and the staff was very friendly and professional. Will come back again for sure.

Had a great stay at City Center Inn & Suites! The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The staff was friendly and welcoming, making check-in quick and easy. The location was convenient, safe, with easy access to nearby restaurants and attractions. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and I would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend!

The hotel is old

Otherwise, we love the location and all the staff. Everything is clean. It’s safe. It’s one of our favorite places to stay in San Francisco because of the location in soma and included parking. Just be weary on busy weekends about getting a parking space.

Even though check in was stated to be 3pm, when we arrived at 3:17pm our room was not ready. Originally the front desk said that it would be about 15 minutes, but unfortunately it was nearly two hours. I understand that the hotel was fully booked that night, but nearly two hours wait is ridiculous (yes, we had advance reservations). We finally got our room key at 5:04pm. The room was on the 2nd floor but the elevator was broken. For me this is not a problem but I was traveling with my mom who is handicapped, and has a heart condition that makes walking up 2+ flights of stairs dangerous. Also, the handicapped parking space was labeled “for small cars” which means if we had driven our van that is easier for my mom to use due to handicap, we would not have fit in the space. Luckily, we drove a small car this time, but the space needs to be wider to actually make it accessible. There were also large trash bags blocking the hallway, making it hard to get around. These were still there around 6pm, and while they were picked up later, it happened again in the morning. I understand housekeeping has to do their job, but there were multiple trash bags blocking the walkway multiple times. Our room had strange sharpie writing on the wall, as well as two large holes and no screen on the bathroom window. The toiletries were all lavender scented, which both my mom and I are allergic to, so we could not even wash our hands with soap with what was provided. The beds were comfortable though.

I like the price quality balance. Last night, the people staying in the room next to ours got into a fight at 3 AM. The fight lasted for half an hour. We were terrified in our room and couldn't sleep all night. The man kept swearing and telling the woman inside to open the door. When she didn't open it, he banged on the door of the next room very hard and yelled at her to open it. When the woman continued to refuse to open the door, the man broke the window. Unfortunately, the hotel staff were too late to intervene. We had a very bad, terrifying hotel experience.

Parking is first come first serve. Lots of sunshine in the room from the open design but very good blackout curtains as well. Staff very useful and kind.

Staff was alright, I’ve had other hotels let us check in a little before our check in time when we arrive a little earlier to our destination and this inn did not. Took forever to check in, rooms were clean and not bad and the limited parking was nice you didn’t have to pay but it is limited.

The property is walking distance to everything we were looking for especially on Folsom Street There is a doorman to get in and out and we do like to stay out late at the bars in the area so we wish you were able to buzz yourself in or have like the groom key and be able to unlock the front door. Otherwise it’s OK there’s always someone there.

This property is close to many tourist sites. The property and room are fairly well maintained. Even though rooms are cleaned daily, amenities are not replaced and trash is not taken out. Continental breakfast is provided but getting there early is highly suggested. Hotel parking was a plus but it is on a first come first serve basis.

Such great staff and the breakfast and tea time were the best!!!

Parking Parking, proximity
-
It had on property parking and there were eating establishments within walking distance. It was a bit scary to walk around outside due to the way the neighborhood looked. Also, the elevator was not working making several trips on stairs to get our luggage in. They said this is because they are about to change ownership and are leaving that to the new owners.

Everything All was good. Breakfast could be better

Well, we wanted a suite near City Hall with 2 rooms and 2 beds. What we stayed in was a flat with 2 bedrooms, each with its own bed., a tiny bathroom and a main room with a TV and small refrigerator. Ok, that was fine. The place looked like it had once been apartments, which were on 3 levels, and later modified into a motel. Staircases and walkways were outdoors, and the elevator was broken. The parking was free, but it was first come, first served. Staff was very nice and they had to let you in and out of the building. Our room keys did not allow us to enter the building from the street. Staff had to buzz you inside. Didn't appreciate hauling our suitcases up and down the stairs. We were afraid that if we didn't leave our car in the parking lot, that we wouldn't have a parking space left when we came back. So we used Uber and Lyft to get around when we couldn't walk somewhere. Breakfast from 8 to 10AM was uninspired; just coffee and some juice and stale pastries.

How close it was to downtown and not even that close. No views, barely any sunlight in the rooms, elevator didn’t work, its crammed in between two other buildings.

Clean room, simple set up
