Okay place to stay.

As for the inside, well the pictures and marketing was solid. Our room was mediocre and labeled executive suite. No real airflow, just a heater and a non working thermostat? The ceiling fan worked so thank goodness. The safe wasn't working and we asked for maintenance, not once but twice. Said to be there right away. Never came. Bathroom wasn't cleaned out properly, still had someone else's long brown hair in the shower. The door knob looked like a Dobermans chew toy and the door definitely had water damage- it was warped and painted over. They had security and the lobby and attached restaurant was clean. Honestly I was a little disappointed given the disparity between pictures and some of these reviews vs seeing it directly. I tried cancelling the day of before checking in and they weren't really right away and supposedly no refunds on our reservation. But no warning about being on the set of "Escape LA" in real life. We ended up staying Friday night. While our reservation was through Monday we left Saturday to another hotel. We just couldn't stay there.

However outside the hotel, there are homeless people on the streets, which is the current status of big cities like Los Angeles, New York, Portland and Seattle. About our room, it is close to the street and we can hear the vehicles and talking people outside. It interrupted our sleep every night. The windows don't block the outside noise. Second, the room has no air conditioning, the ceiling fun kept the room cool, but we had to keep one window open to help cool the room. The bathtub is poorly maintained, it was chipped. Floor tiles are not properly assembled. The doors are scratching the walls. There many signs of poor workmanship in renovating our room. If I need to stay here again, I would stay for a night or two only. Our nights were not the most comfortable being in the second floor and close to the street side. Make sure to request a room not close to streets, which may help with the noise reduction.

They didn’t mention you have to pay 65 dollars a night for parking….

The area is a bit rough it the hotel itself is pretty nice.

Family friendly hotel, kids loved it. Quite central, easy transportation links and the area felt quite safe day and night. Would revisit and stay here again. It would be useful to have a laundrette facility onsite and maybe something that could be considered in the future.

Nice hotel. Friendly staff. Room clean

As with many hotel in SF there is no a/c. Propping the door open did cool off the room otherwise it would have been too hot during the day. Even though it wasn’t listed in the room description, I was surprised there was no refrigerator. I called ahead and requested a fridge and was told they would make a note of it. It never appeared. It’s a decent hotel with decent rates. They don’t have ice machines on every floor. I would stay again if I want to be in the SOMA area.

Soma house was right in the heart of Down Town San Francisco which gave us easy access all around. The hotels were nice but they did not come with AC. Rooms were nice and clean. Furniture seemed a little bit outdated but it was nice. Enjoyed my stay, the carpets were pretty run down in the halls and made it smell funky. I would give it a 3/5 because we got a really cheap price for our stay. Parking was expensive and other fees. But all in all it’s a good stop for a few days.

Did not feel safe upon leaving the premises. A bag of trash stayed on the floor outside a neighboring door for the majority of our stay.

Rooms are small

The aesthetic of the hotel is not what showed on the website actually It has a horrible carpet I cannot imagine when it rains , oh the carpets outside before you enter the room by the way. We stay there three nights and one of the nights,it wasn't cleaned only new towels were provided. They no longer serve breakfast but they give you $10 voucher to use at the restaurant that is better and the food was delicious.

No fridge in room is a big problem if u like cold drinks or snacks. Neighborhood is sketchy.

Customers should not be charged for amenities at the end of the stay without further notice. Overall, the staff is excellent.
