Avenue Inn Downtown San Luis Obispo

Great location

This motel was fine overall. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were like bricks. It felt clean and safe. I appreciated the parking. The room layout was a bit different but spacious. Like most places, there was shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion and hand soap available. The location was the best part. About 6 minutes from Cal Poly and an easy walk to everything downtown. Definitely no frills but not bad either.

I checked in at 6PM and had to leave immediately for a dinner, check in was simple and staff were nice. I came back to my room at 10:15 and immediately noticed the sheets on the bed were dirty with hair and a stain. I opened the sheets to find what looked like poorly cleaned blood stains and other unidentifiable stains across the sheets, hair, and a beetle that looked an awful lot like a bed bug. I went to check the front desk and they were closed. I messaged the desk but no reply. I left the hotel and slept on a friend’s couch.

Very clean and surprisingly quiet for a location right off the freeway. Easy check in and check out.

Bad: aggressive staff came around at checkout to collect $50 fee for 1 hr late checkout, not disclosed at time of booking. Same with added charge for one child. And NO service of any kind; no food, snacks, water. Very low-end room amenities. Bottom line: we WON’T be booking again.

Great little place with clean rooms and friendly folks. We only stayed one night during our trek down PCH but we felt safe and we were comfortable. Hotel was in a good location to find outdoor festival in town and a good restaurant Gueseppis (sp).

Walking distance to downtown.

Stayed one night on trip from SFO to LA. We specifically picked Thursday night as we wanted to check out the famous Farmers Market. This hotel was about a 10 minute walk away which was perfect to avoid parking hassles. The room was large, the bed very comfortable and the grounds very quiet. We will definitely stay here again!

Room wasn't fancy but was ideal for our needs. Great location - easy to walk to restaurants, the Mission, and Thursday night farmers market. Highly recommend recommend.

It's located on the southeast edge of downtown SLO. Property is well maintained, the staff very friendly, and the rooms clean and well maintained! Very much enjoyed our brief stay!
