Location from train station was literally a 3 minutes walk Friendly staff nice and cosy really nice pancakes the next morning

Hostel Obispo was great. What I liked the most was the community atmosphere and access to the kitchen and appliances. I was able to make smoothies for everyone and enjoy some conversations. This is not the place to go for sleep. Quality sleep is likely possible, but definitely not a certainty. First, there is no AC in the dorms, so it will inevitably get warm with all those bodies in there. Also, silence is not guaranteed. There is designated “Quiet Time” that spans from 10 PM until morning but it’s only softly enforced. There was a group of guests talking outside my dorm window well past 10 PM. Since closing the window wasn’t an option because of the heat, I gave up on trying to sleep and just joined the talking group instead. Don’t expect to get uninterrupted sleep at this place.

This is a great old place in a beautiful neighborhood. You can walk just about anywhere you want to go in San Luis Obispo from there.

This is a lovely place! The staff is very welcoming, and the infrastructure is made in way to make easy to start conversations with the other guests ! Lovely location too, Californian small town style. I do recommend it!

Location is 15 min walking distance from downtown, sourdough pancakes for breakfast were delicious. Two of the guests Augustine and John made dinner to share with everyone, also delicious. Everyone we interacted with was very open and friendly and sharing those meals made it an unforgettable experience! Upstairs dorm room got a bit hot even with fans but not enough to affect sleep.

The hostel sends a text to give the code and information about the stay. We did not get it and when we arrived, we called them, no answer, we texted, no response. We waited outside the building for almost an hour. We booked at 10pm or so and arrived at 11:00 pm. We did not keep anyone from booking the room since we only had booked an hour before and it was late. The hostel would not return our money, even though they did not help us to get into the building and into the room. We never got in and had to find another hotel at midnight. They say they sent the text or email, it is possible but the point is that we never received it and were unable to get a hold of them or to use the room. We had driven many hours and were exhausted. It was a very negative experience because they were unresponsive. At the end they should have returned our money. They refused, even though it is the right thing to do.

Friendly.staff, nice house, clean, pŕoperty designed for outdoor comfort. slo pretty city very walkable wish I could afford to live there..

The signage made the expectations and rules clear. I didn't like breakfast starting so late because I had to leave early. Something for early risers would be awesome!

The property was it a great location The guy is sleeping on the couch smelled like feet nice and was scary to see when waking up at 6 AM.

The hostel is closed from 11 to 4:30. It should clearly have stated that when reserving. There are lots of things to do in SLO…but one day I scheduled myself to hangout at the hostel to write and mingle.
