Clean rooms & staff was really nice & helpful

Room was huge and clean! We will be staying here again anytime we come to San Marcos

Our room was spacious, which was a plus, but it wasn't cleaned well. There was what looked like dried food on one wall, trash behind the bed next to the nightstand, and mold on the bathroom ceiling. The complimentary breakfast wasn't worth eating. The sausage was decent, but the eggs were watery and tasted nothing like eggs. We asked for ketchup and were told they had run out. The waffle station was messy with spilled batter and used cups left behind. When I opened the brown sugar container, I found half of a bitten slice of bread inside. Coffee was acceptable. The pool area had only two tables and four chairs, leaving nowhere to sit except the hot Texas concrete. The pool restroom was locked the entire time, and the exterior door back into the hotel had a broken card reader, forcing everyone to walk around to the main entrance. Overall, not a good experience. The room size was the only real positive, but poor housekeeping, lack of maintenance, and neglected common areas mean I won't be staying here again.

My room was clean but a friend was staying also and their room was not very clean at all. They got there at 3pm to check in and was told their room was not ready, it was still being cleaned, guess they forgot to clean it all the way. A couple of the people at the front desk were very lazy, meaning we asked for a few towels and they acted like they were being asked of so much. Breakfast was ok, now the lady taking care of the breakfast was just plain rude. Pool was fun for the kids but there was no shade and it only had 2 tables and 2 chairs out by the pool, one of the tables was broken. The best part of the stay was the fact that the shower had no cold water, it was so hot you could not take a shower. When I asked the gentleman at the desk he kinda acted like it was not his problem, i asked if we had to find another hotel to stay in so my grandkids could atleast take a bath ( after coming from Shclitterbauns) could they maybe help us out a little, he basically stated that if that's what I wanted to do that was on me, oh, and the grandkids feet were black from walking on the hallway carpet, it was pretty dirty also. Needless to say that was my first and will be my last stay at this Homewood Suites.

The rooms were very spacious!! But there were no extra pillows or towels. The carpets were a little dirty. The pullout couch had crumbs. The pillow case had mildew or mold stains on it.

Room was big and clean, enjoyed the stay.

Would stay again

El cuarto estaba amplio, el sillon estaba bastante incomodo, pasamos solo una noche y al despertar encontre que habia un insecto grandisimo en el respaldo de mi cama, mi esposo fue a resepcion a quejarse y nunca bos dieron la atencion de mandar a alguien para sacarlo o hacer algo al respecto.

This hotel is just ok. A little dated and not the cleanest.

Tv was broken. Called down to see if we could switch rooms or have another tv brought up was informed that we could come to the lobby to watch tv. It was the NBA finals! Never use Hotels.com cause they wouldn’t help contact to property and in fact when I originally booked the hotel they switched the dates so I had to cancel the original booking which was no refundable but they sell you insurance so when their app picks Sunday not Saturday after you already picked Saturday! Hotel.com is trash and so is this hotel! Breakfast was empty as well! And they made no attempt to refill anything!

Easy check in, friendly staff and clean room.

The hotel was updated, clean and everything was in working order. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful but had trouble restocking towels in a timely manner however when we really needed them they were delivered but took a while. They were out of a few breakfast items and when asked the staff seemed irritated and disinterested in helping. Overall the hotel was beautiful and comfortable and we’d definitely stay there again.

The first room I was in a quarter of the tv had a permanent blue hue so I asked to have the tv swapped out, at first they said no problem, then stated they were getting new tv’s in the rooms by the end of the week. I asked to be switched to a room with a working TV. They switched me to a double queen room, no problem. The bed closest to the tv had a mattress protector on it and I sweat really bad because of it. I switched to the other bed and woke up the next morning covered in itchy red bumps! I immediately addressed the issue with the staff who moved me back to a king room with a blue tv. Staff claimed to have had a company come check the room for “activity” and allegedly found none. I’m literally covered in bed bug bites from the middle of my abdomen to my ankles. The second room works not lock from the interior by the latch, only the dead bolt. The main floor men’s bathroom soap dispenser and paper towel dispenser did not work also. I’ve never been so disappointed by a hotel in my life!

Everywhere you look the room needs to be cleaned. The hallway floors are disgusting. Walls are nasty!

I will not stay here again

The pool needed cleaning and all the carpets need to be changed out. They are completely stained and old. Wish house keeping would provide new towels daily and take trash and recycling out daily as well.

Emma was great! She help accommodate my family by moving us to another room that was well maintained and clean!!
