Red Roof Inn Richmond - Airport/ Sandston

At check-in, the lobby had a very strong marijuana smell. I understand marijuana laws in Virginia, but I would be concerned about the environment if I were traveling with a young child. Regardless of its legality, a hotel lobby should feel comfortable and appropriate for all guests. There were also some cleanliness and maintenance issues in the room. The filter on the climate control unit had visible dust buildup, and the inside of the bathroom door had dirty spots and dark gray/almost black fingerprints that had clearly not been cleaned. The flooring in the main room was particularly concerning. Several tiles were cracked and peeling up, and you could actually hear them popping when you stepped on them. This seems like a legitimate trip-and-fall hazard and something management should address before someone gets hurt. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable. I could feel the springs, and I did not sleep well. I woke up with back pain, as did my fellow travelers. I checked out around 4:30 a.m. The marijuana smell from the lobby was no longer an issue, but the smell of incense was still extremely strong and overwhelming. There are some definite maintenance, cleanliness, and comfort issues that need attention. The flooring in particular is a safety concern, and the overall guest environment could use some improvement.

Nothing My husband did not stay at this hotel. He was in a semi truck (No Trailer) and they told him that the only parking for him was past the Red Roof Inn and past the other hotel. There was no way he could walk that far when he is handicapped. There was plenty of room in the original parking lot but he was told he could not park there. My husband left there and booked a room at the Microtel Inn. Please issue a refund for the full price of $75.56 that we paid.

Disappointing

Not a great stay. There were people walking and talking around our first floor room until after 1am. The parking lot smelled heavily of pot. When we asked for more pillows (only one pillow per person provided), we were told they have no extras. The room smelled of super strong cleaner; which I understand could have been worse, but it was overpowering. The bedspreads were dingy and stained. The coffee maker was missing a piece, so you couldn’t make coffee. There was no shampoo. The bathroom door had been poorly patched and looked as if it had been broken down previously. There was no hairdryer. Traffic noise was incredibly loud. The sound of the shower being turned on from the bedroom area sounded like a seal being strangled. There was no toilet paper roll hanger. The beds were like concrete slabs. We will not be staying here again.

Do not stay here. There were roaches, holes in the bedding. Bathroom door could not be shut. Dirty marks on comforter and walls.poor lightning. I took pictures to send to health department.

Roach infestation. And I’m not being melodramatic. Several roaches scurried out from under my shoes and at sink. The sink would not drain and it looked like phlegm floated up from the bottom of the drain when the water was filling the sink.

Just awful. There were flies in the room. The blanket have burnt mark. It is unacceptable.

It was ok…Till getting ready for bed & roaches start to come out from the baseboards all around the room/bth rm…Not enough pillows for a king sized bed…Back started hurting…
