The property is very lovely but room is old & needs to be updated. The restaurant food is great & service excellent.

Well located, good size with pool, but the room flooring was not clean.

The sole source of natural light in this hotel “room was a terrace enclosed by opaque glass panels, offering no view whatsoever. Dreadful. When we requested a room change, the staff claimed the hotel was fully booked. Worse still, they made zero effort to compensate us and showed no regret whatsoever for leaving us in such a dreadful room The worst experience

I really like the glass doors that open to a lovely area with trees and lots of greenery and a little terrace with table and chairs and a very nice restaurant with out door seating and fires at night right there.

When I lived in Santa Barbara from 2001-2020, we would always book rooms for the guests we didn't have room for at The Lemon Tree. I now live in San Diego and usually stay with family when I come to town every 5-6 weeks. But this time, I was visiting with a friend from my childhood who lives in the Midwest who deserved the ambiance of a place li9ke The Lemon Tree. During our stay, we had drinks by the pool and swam in it, It is very long and there is a long shallow shelf which delighted my 3 1/2 year old grandson but PLEASE NOTE: the pool is not heated! After a drink with local friends by the pool, my daughter and her family who live in Santa Barbara went to our room. We turned the TV on for the kids and the adults retreated to the private lanai, which is spacious and welcoming. On paper, The Crocodile Restaurant is separate from the hotel, but it was easy to order and have the food delivered to our room. So why do I give it only "Good" ratings on Expedia? I love ambiance and The Lemon Tree oozes with it. It provides guests a serene, tropical setting away from the beach, which is too touristy for me. Beyond that, if it meets my low standards: the shower delivers steady hot water, the place is clean, and the beds are comfortable, I am happy. I'm saying "Good" because people who want up-to-date guest rooms, should move on. The guest rooms, particularly the bathrooms, are crying for an update. But they do work.
