The Franciscan Hotel

We had the best stay!! The hotel was clean and super conveniently located in proximity to everything. Ben checked us in and he was just delightful. Would 10/10 recommend.

The lighting in the room was really bad. Super bright lights no ambient or lamp lights. Ruined the evenings. Either make them adjustable and/or add lamp/ambient lights.

After checking in, I realized we had been assigned the wrong room. Our room did not have the full-size shower and bathtub that were shown in the room photos. Before our stay, I had also called the hotel and was assured by the receptionist that our room would include a bathtub/shower. When I brought the issue to the front desk, I was only given two options: keep our current room or switch to a room with a queen-size bed that had a bathtub/shower but no balcony. Neither option matched the room I had originally booked. Despite paying a premium nightly rate, I was not offered a reduced room rate or any other form of compensation for the inconvenience. Aside from the room mix-up, the hotel itself was very nice. The complimentary bike rental was a great amenity, with bikes available from sunrise to sunset. The pool and hot tub were well maintained, and the housekeeping staff did an excellent job keeping the room clean throughout our stay. Overall, I enjoyed many aspects of the hotel, but I was disappointed that the room I reserved was not available and that no effort was made to compensate for the difference. For the price, I expected better communication and a resolution that reflected the room I had booked.

I also left a small item in the room at check out and CJ took great care and time in locating it for me…he went a vice and beyond in tracking it down and they are shipping it to me. Thank you CJ!

Easy parking, very attentive staff and unbeatable location steps from the beach. Appreciated the provision of free bikes. Decent breakfast

Great location close to the wharf and downtown area, around 5-15 mins walk depending on where you're going. Staff were very friendly and accomodating, and breakfast was very good. We will stay there again.

This place was perfect. The rooms were super clean, the parking was convenient, and it was super walkable to downtown. This charming hotel had us feeling like we were in a different country. Beautiful, cozy, tucked away and exceeded our bratty expectations.

Beautiful property with the perfect vintage but updated feel. Staff was great and the location is walkable to everything. Also, very dog friendly, really enjoyed it!

Good location, walking distance to beach and funk zone. Room was basic, but clean. Bathroom tubs need to be updated. Pool was warm, but could be cleaned

We loved it. We will stay there in future when we need to be in Santa Barbara for sure. Beautiful spacious room. Large, newly appointed bathroom. In room coffee and fridge. On demand delicious coffee in reception. Pool was a delight. I didn't go in the hot tub but it looked great. The hotel is one block from world class, spectacular views of beach and harbor and also super close to SB main shopping, restaurants and night life street (State St.). All in all, wonderful location, quiet boutique hotel. There are no conference rooms or a large lobby etc. as you might find with a large chain hotel. This was part of the attraction for my family. Staff were wonderful.

Beautiful place! The pool was perfect, having laundry on-site was a huge bonus. Great location! Small but very sweet rooms.

Great location a few blocks from the beach and the Funk District with lots of bars and restaurants. Large rooms and free parking.
