Poor staff. Clean rooms. Scary area

I do not recommend staying at this property. The office was tended by people who did not understand basic operating skills for a hotel. We were there 3 nights and paid a lot more for the room than I think they were worth. I requested housekeeping service (new towels) every lunch time b/c they didn’t provide automatically. The last day/night the housekeeping service never showed. The access to the parking lot is at a tricky intersection and challenging to find at night.

Clean , stuff, breakfast, parking

Was our reservation. Hotel gave us second floor, queen bed and when confronted said too bad, we are full. No elevator and very difficult to get up. Had to use the stairs with a cane as walker would not work.

The lights under the microwave oven were on all night. I even considered trying to disconnect the bulbs. My wife and I tried many ways to turn off Was not possible. I finally went to the front desk after calling 0 which did not work. The guy at the front desk was new and had no idea. We finally went downstairs for breakfast and the lady was familiar with this issue, she recommended that we follow the chord back and unplug it. I eventually figured out that you have to be 6ft tall like me to open the right cupboard to reach and unplug it. The curtains were nice but what's the point if you have to sleep with the lights on. I would be inclined to stay again now that I know how to get better sleep. Thanks, all else gets a definite 5!

Was charged both the room and incidentals PRIOR to me even leaving home day of trip. When it was clearly a "pay at hotel" upon arrival. Then AFTER I left I was charged for another nights stay even tho my close out receipt said zero balance. Staff was not helpful whatsoever upon arrival and didnt see i was already charged for incidentals and charged ANOTHER 100.00. Now I have to dispute the extra 332.00 charge and wait for 200.00 of incidentals to be released. DO NOT USE YOUR CARDS HERE. runny eggs, bagels all ran out by 8am and waiting on staff to replace anything

easy access, good location, and breakfast was very good.

They had plenty of choices, better than some other motels we’ve been at.

Friendly staff and parking

Very clean. Staff were super helpful. Walking distance to stores and food. Shower pressure good and water hot. Pillows good, bed meh, highway is right next to it so some road noise but generally quiet. Parking is very tight so not great for bigger vehicles. For Santa Cruz and price its a good place. Not fancy but clean and ran well. Does the job but way more than the bare minumum.

That said, the rooms could definitely use some updates. The shower is oddly designed—it’s a walk-in with no door, so the bathroom floor gets wet everywhere. The toilet also made noises throughout our entire stay, like it was having water issues. The towels were ripped and very worn, and our room didn’t have a bag for the ice bucket. All in all, I can’t complain too much. The location was great, it was close to the beach, and parking was convenient. Just a few things that could use some TLC.

For it to be an upgrade room towel and room service was none . Had to request towels from staff only time they were replaced. Lots of noise . Bacon and cheese eggs were great! The receptionist was lost to even print me a closing bill. We left a day early as service was not available! Had to even request a tv remote. We’re very sorry we even registered at Best Western! Where was our service! Check my years we have been members ! Very unhappy Mary Ann Broddrick Close to Highway one!

Very, Very noisy from fwy traffic ?

It was good enough and I didn’t expect much. All that matters is that I had a place to sleep for the night.

The rooms look they have recently been updated, nice and clean. The staff was great and the free breakfast was great. The outside of the property could use some updating, other than that is was a great stay.
