La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Santa Cruz

Staff both reception and housekeeping were very accommodating. The breakfast buffet area always seemed a little cramped. Waffles were a hit but had to stand in line the first morning a long time as only two waffle makers. Almost always a line to make waffles. I guess the line depends on how many guests show up at the same time. Muffins were the same everyday, it would be nice to have options. Always plenty of bacon, scrambled eggs, and sausages. No hot chocolate packets :( but other option coffee, tea, milk, juices. There was a $25 parking fee per night and I didn’t remember that being mentioned prior to our stay. Around that area there were no other options for overnight parking so no choice. Good to know the parking area is secured. Easy walk to the beach wharf, boardwalk and downtown. Visited the Museum, lots of great I for about the bay. Fun for all ages. I stay definitely again.

Great place to stau

White bright lights in rooms made it hard to relax. Felt like I was in an office setting. It needs soft yellow lights.

Great new hotel (as of 2025-on), decent prince, amazing location, parking lot was convienent and safe. Rooms we super clean and up to date. The only thing I would knock on this place is the breakfast situation, food was good and fresh but people are corralled into a tiny room with food and coffee on both sides jammed up against each other. The flow of people through a line was non-existent. The waffle station (super popular) is jammed in there right next to the eggs sand bacon, so people have to wait for 2 mins and get in the way of everyone else trying to get other items. Its coffee and eggs. Its a total mess and only a matter of time before hot coffee gets spilled on someone getting a waffle. This needs to be fixed ASAP. The dining room is huge and they definitely have the space to rectify this. I hope they do as this would cause me to pick another hotel at a similar cost. Mornings are already fraught for families and this situation did not help and caused a good deal of stress for me and my fellow patrons. La Quinta PLEASE FIX !

I liked the free breakfast and the balcony that came with the room I chose which was the Queen Ocean View. We were a family of 7 and the room was big enough for all of us. 2 adults and 5 children. There was a pull out bed which was great. Staff was awesome, no complaints. Well when I checked in I was charged for the room again. I paid 2 days before our stay and when I got there I was charged again. That was basically our spending money. The manager was nice and helpful with the situation. However, I didn't get refunded until I checked out. But this didn't happen to me before so, I wouldn't hold it against them and will still book with them again. In the end the problem was resolved. Because of this incident I rated my stay an 8, otherwise it would be a 10

The biggest downside was the location. It's not ideal for families and is surrounded by businesses that seemed to attract a rougher crowd, which made us feel less comfortable than expected. I wish I had done more research before booking because I would have chosen a different area. Overall, I don't feel the experience justified the price.

Conveniently located, wharf and boardwalk at a very walkable distance. Very clean property and a bonus that it offers breakfast that was always stocked even when you came in a little later. Staff is extremely helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

The staff was friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay, making check-in and check-out quick and easy. The location was convenient, with easy access to downtown Santa Cruz, the Beach Boardwalk, restaurants, and other attractions. While the complimentary breakfast was fairly basic and could be improved with more variety and higher-quality options, it was adequate for a quick start to the day. Overall, the hotel offered excellent value for the price. We would happily stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, and well-located place to stay in Santa Cruz.

The rooms staff and parking were phenomenal the pool was crowded and only 3 feet deep but it was amazing and so close to the beach and boardwalk access was amazing price was wonderful and so was breakfast
