Hampton Inn Santa Fe South

Location was good. Elevator s were not working and I travel with a spouse who has mobility issues. Having to use stairs was not good for us. No plates at breakfast only bowls. My deadbolt would not work. Hilton really seems to be slipping for the price you pay. Also I saw no indication that anyone was working on elevators.

The room was very clean and comfortable. The elevator was not working, which was an inconvenience for me and my elderly mother going up and down the stairs.

Room was clean and staff were friendly. The big disappointment was that when we checked in, the front desk staff member told us the elevator was broken and wouldn’t be fixed during our stay. Our room was also located on the 4th floor! We had to haul our luggage up and down 4 flights of stairs on which someone had spilled coffee. Stairs weren’t very clean or well maintained. Obviously many guests staying on the 4th floor hadn’t used the stairs previously. No discount or anything was offered for the inconvenience of not having a working elevator.

Elevators were not working and the employee at the front desk said they would be out for a long time. They also charge you to park in their parking lot.

My biggest complaint is during check-in they did make us aware that the elevator was currently out of order! They did not try to accommodate us due to the fact I booked through a 3rd party! I was with an elderly senior and children. We were here for her surgery and we had to go to the 4th floor. I understand things happen but for the price of a one night stay, you would think they would accommodate better! Four flights of stairs isn’t easy for everyone!

Everything was wonderful! The hotel was spotless and the staff was so wonderful and helpful. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because the elevator did not work for the days that we were at the hotel, which made it difficult to transport our luggage and have to go up and down the stairs every day. Other than that, I cannot wait to stay at the hotel once again.

Staff was friendly and I won't deny that the property and room were very clean, but several issues made our stay uncomfortable. It seemed like the carpet had just been shampooed hours before our arrival. Stepping on it with socks felt wet and unpleasant, and transitioning from the damp carpet to the bathroom tile in sandals created a major slip hazard. We actually had to lay down a towel to prevent falling. The overwhelming smell of the cleaning products was also a lot to handle, especially after a long drive.Once we turned off the lights to sleep, we discovered that the smoke alarm had an extremely bright flashing light. I ended up having to sleep with my head completely under the covers just to block out the light and mask the heavy chemical smell. I appreciate the cleanliness, but these issues significantly impacted our sleep before another long day of driving.

The staff were all very helpful and every interaction was pleasant and professional. The hotel is nice, clean, well maintained and we would stay here again when in Santa Fe.

Arrived after check in time (3:00 PM Sunday), had to wait an hour before room was ready and was advised third party had booked room.
