HI Los Angeles Santa Monica Hostel

I recommend the place; it's very cozy.

This was our first time staying in a Hostel. We chose a double room for just us and had the space needed. It was not luxurious or a large room, but everthing was clean, had what we needed, and we would stay again! Every employee was very nice.

HI USA hostel was such a lovely experience!! This was my first time staying at a hostel and it was a great experience for it being my first time. I met so many wonderful people from all over the world, it was incredible hearing people’s stories and learning about their lives! The room itself was quite comfortable, the bunk was nice and cushioned and I felt safe with my roommates. The staff are all very welcoming and helpful, they will answer any of your questions! If you’re confused or unsure of anything, make sure you ask the staff or the people around you. I think my only “issue” would be the lack of a tour, but it’s not too difficult to figure things out with the help of others :) I was a solo traveler as well and it was very comforting to stay somewhere where I felt taken care of and welcomed! The best memories you will make here will be the ones you determine to make, so don’t be afraid to talk to new people if that’s something you like! It’s a great community, thank you HI USA for a wonderful first experience :)

As any HI, Santa Monica was spacious, comfortable, organized, hygienic, and courteous.

Perfect location, great facilities and beds were very comfortable Quite expensive for a hostel

The common areas were very clean along with the rest of the facility. Unlike a competing hostel in the area I have stayed at in the past, this place had an elevator, so I was happy I didn't have to lug my suitcase up four flights of stairs. I also made use of the beach towels and umbrella they had available. I went to the beach for a few hours after I checked out, but they were kind enough to store my luggage for $5.00. There's a little market there to buy snacks, drinks, and sundries and a communal kitchen where you can store your labeled food and drinks and make your own meals if you choose to. You can also get a discount to a few places nearby that serve breakfast and lunch. I didn't end up going to any of them, but I appreciated it since there's no meals served. I was given a top bunk, which wasn't my ideal preference. I had to climb up there with only the flashlight from my cellphone to guide me since I came in around midnight and I didn't want to turn on the light to disturb everyone. This was a last minute booking and I was grateful for any bed for the night, so beggars can't be choosers!

It was great Lockers doesn’t have lock and just bring yours otherwise it costs 7 dollars

It was a nice stay as the usual, the rooms and common areas were clean, the rooms at the perfect température. There were water fountains. The staff was helpful. I was a bit sad that the price increased for no breakfast served anymore. Which was a nice addition for staying here.

You had to pay to get luggage stored for a few extra hours

Very nice and good hostel, so neat, only issue is hallway has a pee nursing home scent, if that can be eradicated, perfect

I liked how clean everything was. The whole space was super big too and had very different areas to enjoy. The location is also amazing and parking was nice to have right in front of the hostel.

Kitchen was a huge PLUS!
