The Pierside Santa Monica

The most adorable hotel, just steps from the pier! It really has everything you want in a great central location to everything. I just left and I’m ready to go back!

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at Pierside Santa Monica. This was our first trip to California and the staff welcomed us. They were very friendly, very helpful. We were greeted everything we entered the building. The location was perfect a short walk to the pier. Surfing Fox was a great place to dine. Overall this hotel makes an excellent choice to stay.

Staff was unbelievable helpful and the offering of beach items down to sand toys was great. The food at the restaurant is very good too and we felt things were very clean.

The property itself and the rooms are lovely and top-notch. The location is both a plus and a minus. It’s wonderfully centrally located for food, shopping and the beach, but also nestled right up against a freeway. Our room overlooked the freeway, but there was also a fair bit of greenery out the window so we could mostly ignore it. The pool is tucked down below street level, also right next to the freeway. But they’ve done a remarkable job keeping that area fairly oasis-like, in spite of this. The only real negative for us was the restaurant. We stopped in for a quick breakfast. The food was good but we caught them on an exceptionally busy day. The service was both extremely slow (understandable) but also angry and borderline aggressive. I’m sure it was an off day but we didn’t go back.

The location is fantastic; just steps from the Santa Monica Pier and beach, making it easy to explore everything the area has to offer. One of the highlights of our trip was using the bikes and riding along the beach path all the way to Venice Beach. It was such a memorable experience! Our room was spacious, clean, and beautifully designed. We especially loved the contemporary décor, which gave the hotel a fresh, modern feel. The little touches really stood out, from the amazing-smelling body wash and lotion to the reusable water bottle provided in the room. Having filtered water and ice stations on each floor was incredibly convenient and a thoughtful amenity. The pool area was another favorite. There were plenty of comfortable places to relax, the pool was a great size, and the adorable inflatable fox added a fun, playful touch that made us smile. Finally, a special thank you to Jerome at the front desk. He was incredibly welcoming from the moment we arrived and made us feel right at home. His friendly attitude and excellent customer service truly set the tone for a great stay. Overall, The Pierside Hotel exceeded our expectations, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a stylish, comfortable hotel in an unbeatable Santa Monica location!

Very nice staff and great room! Very clean. Attached restaurant Ok. Not a big variety of food. Super close to the Pier. Will stay here again when in town.

Overall, we’ll chalk this up to a “been there, done that” experience to stay beside the pier. The pier itself was also somewhat disappointing as there is construction and the walking bridge to get there is a single walking lane, long trek each way.

The only downside is the lack of self-parking, but convenient public parking is available over the road for a maximum of $22 per day (resets at midnight).
