Ocean Lodge Santa Monica Beach Hotel

Great folks at the front desk who were very helpful throughout our stay at this iconic motel.

Great location for exploring Santa Monica beach, staff very friendly and helpful

At this Hotel stay the room was very clean exactly like the pictures. It is on a busy street so there was a lot of noise from traffic. Was easy to get to the eatery's on the pier & Cora's Cafe was a great find for breakfast. On this stay I had a family emergency back in Nebraska & needed to leave early. The staff was not helpful in doing this as for the manager was never around. My stay was May 26 to 28 -- I had to leave on the 27th-- Still have not heard back from Ocean Lodge about my room credit per my credit card. Oh the parking is not very good we had to pay an extra $35.00 & there are only 3 spots to park.

Walking distance to Santa Monica Pier, beach and restaurants. Very clean and nice staff. No coffee maker or microwave available in the room .

Can't even see ocean from hotel!

Opinion everything was clean and the cleaning lady was very nice and good at her work. I felt welcome by cleaning lady and the rest of the employees.

Great location The room was not worth what they were charging. It's the location that helps that hotel.

The location was excellent! We walked to the Pier, the beach, and multiple restaurants! The room was cute, clean, and nice sized! Staff were helpful and nice! Parking very pricey and very small.

I liked that it was close to the santa monica pier. The room was small, no ocean or view of anything, pricey and you could hear all the loud noise going on outside.

When I raised this issue with the front desk, the hotel staff did not acknowledge that I had paid extra for an ocean-view option. Instead, they told me to contact the booking platform. This was very frustrating because the ocean-view upgrade was the main reason I chose this hotel and paid a higher price. What made the situation even more disappointing was that, even from the part of the hotel closest to the ocean, the ocean was barely visible. In my view, the way this property presents or sells “ocean view” rooms is misleading. The hotel’s only practical response was to shift responsibility to the booking platform. By the time I checked in, it was not realistic for me to leave and find another hotel. I felt misled by the room description and unsupported by the hotel’s handling of the issue. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone booking for an ocean view.

The parking next door Screen had a rip in it allowing mosquitos inside

A nice little hotel close to everything. The people who work here are outstanding. The hotel was clean. I took one star off because our little refrigerator rocked back and forth and it felt like it would fall forward. But the bed was comfortable, the shower pressure was nice and the towels were clean. The hardest part was the parking. The cars are very close to each other. The woman who works the registration desk actually walks out when someone comes in or leaves to help supervise and make sure the cars are protected. She was very nice.
