voco Sarasota by IHG

Check your final bill closely at Voco hotel in Sarasota. The female staff member charged my room for parking 3 separate times, despite the fact that I did not travel with a vehicle. She also mistakenly (or carelessly) charged my room for a breakfast that I did not have. Please review your billing accuracy and train staff to verify room numbers properly before applying charges

The hotel is well-located, and well-maintained. The room was clean and spacious. I took advantage of the hotel's relatively small pool, which was fine. The dining area was being renovated, and was only open on weekends (I chose not to dine there). I did not take advantage of the hotel's shuttle to beaches and other nearby amenities. Hotel staff are well-trained and very accommodating. The hotel is walking distance from the commercial area of the downtown, and there are numerous restaurants to choose from. Hotel management, according to staff upon my checkout, apparently would have been gracious in offering to reduce and refund my prepaid reservation by one night of my four night stay due to my airline's extremely delayed plane departure causing a missed airplane connection (and thus a forced overnight stay at the connecting city instead of my reserved day of initial arrival at voco Sarasota). But unfortunately Hotels.Com was unwilling to accommodate my request for the one-night refund.

Very nice place especially for the price. Need more help at the front desk during weekend check-in time, called two times and was put on hold both times for 3+minutes.

The best parts about this hotel are the staff and the free shuttle service. We parked our car and never moved it until leaving. We will DEFINITELY be staying here again. Barry, Jim, and Jake were genuinely friendly and helpful with recommending restaurants. Our room was spacious and clean. The refillable water stations were also a plus!

Second time staying at Voco within last month and BEYOND pleased. Staff is amazing! Jake, Fefe and Barry especially. Excited to see the renovations. Thank you for making our stay exceptional.

Extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff. I really liked the decor and the vibe of this hotel. The restaurant was not open when I stayed there, but they served a buffet breakfast, which was pretty good. I booked the breakfast in advance for $11, but you can buy it the day of for $17.50. I’m not sure I would’ve been happy with the selection if I paid $17.50. All in all, I would definitely stay there again!

This hotel is in the heart of the arts district and downtown Sarasota, so it is very walkable. They also offer a free shuttle, including to the beach, as well as beach chairs, umbrellas, towels and bags. The bar and restaurant were very welcoming, and the pool area was lovely. The room was large, clean, and very comfortable. The sheets were perfect, and I'm pretty picky about sheets.

Had a great stay at Voco. Staff was very friendly and the amenities were outstanding.
