Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites South Portland by IHG

It was a very convenient location, the linens were very clean and the breakfast was surprisingly good! Good value for the price.

Traveling for business this is one of my go-to hotels in the area. It’s set up well for work and the room has a comfortable layout.

Staff were nice. Room was a little weirdly laid out, but had lots of space. Parking was easy anx breakfast was good.

The hotel was really nice. The room was spacious and had all the comforts of home feeling. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

We were a party of 5 older women (74-80 yo) in two 2 double bed rooms each w/a pull out couch. The rooms were neat & clean with a sink outside the shower & commode. This was very helpful when getting ready in the am. The breakfast was plentiful with an outstanding staff. The 24 hr coffee station opposite the check-in was also a godsend for our many coffee drinkers. The refrigerator & microwave w/shelves & cabinet area was also extremely convenient for leftovers. Being able to unload our cars at the front onto luggage racks was also a plus! Overall we had great weather, & this hotel provided easy access to Portland for our varied excursions (trolley thru town & out to Portland Head Light, a cruise to House Island w/tour of Fort Scammel, & the 4 stop Walking Donut loop accompanied by a history of the city) added up to a great 3 day weekend!

Room was very clean when we arrived.Breakfast options were generally what is offered at these types of hotels. Nothing more, nothing less. Quiet area. Close to airpot but heard no planes noise.

Easy check in. Clean rooms and great location

King bed was creaky, bathroom not overly clean. No extra blankets or pillows in the rooms. Back door to the building was always open because it did not shut securely. Broken taped windows on the lower level. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was good.

Rude staff as well as hospitality extremely poor. Guy at front desk was not friendly as well as cleanliness

I have EOE therefore no dairy, eggs, wheat, soy, nuts, fish.

Breakfast egg & cheese omelet were "manufactured" not very tasty. Great cinnamon buns.

A nice place for a overnight

I didn’t like it The two front desk people were extremely rude, and it seemed like they were overworked… Across from my room was a barking dog. I requested two beds. They gave me one… Then when I complained about the barking dog, they suddenly found a room with two beds so they were basically lying to me. The next day, the front desk manager gave me a discount… That was nice however it still did take away the fact that our first couple of hours there were not very pleasant and the two other front desk people were back there the next day and they were kind of rude again… I wrote the manager a letter and the manager never responded. Which is a sure sign that they just want your money and don’t really care… The only one that seemed to care was the front desk manager of Mellisa. We all work hard for money and we all want. What’s advertising Booking.com… I’m getting really tired of bad service and rude behavior…

The staff were exceptionally helpful.
