Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites South Portland by IHG

The service at Best Western was outstanding. They could not do enough for you. The whole hotel is decorated in 250 years of America.

This was an amazing Hotel and staff. Thank you all so much! Will definitely be back if ever visiting Maine again!

Clean room, kids loved the pool after a long day of driving.

Front desk help was not very friendly, very short when I asked questions and when I called down for bedding for the couch gave short rude response. Next morning way before check out I got a knock on my door and it was house keeping who didn’t announce who they were and just stared at me when I opened the door. As we were leaving I witnessed them go down the hall door to door knocking not announcing and opening doors which still had guests in as they quietly shut the door.

Took 2 days to get any sort of housekeeping and I had 2 little kids with me... Had to take our own trash to the dumpster because staff refused to take it. They left a giant mound of laundry in the hallway for more than a day. We had trouble communicating with the staff members. Asked for certain items and were given the wrong things. I had 3 rooms for me and my family members and we all were unimpressed.

Clean, spacious rooms, breakfast was lovely

No soap shampoo or conditioner in washroom luckily I carry my own as I travel with a child. Even after requesting never got it refilled!!

We really enjoyed the stay. Everything was clean. The only thing I didn’t like was the restroom that was pretty small with a yellow and weak light inside. The sink was outside the restroom just in front of my bed. I don’t like to sleep in front of a sink.

We had a very nice stay. Will return next time I am in Portland.

So disappointed. This hotel use to be fabulous years ago but not anymore. The breakfast was awful. Hair nets are not a thing in that kitchen. So be prepared to pick hair out. Upon arrival my daughter had to ask the housekeeper to refill the soaps as they were empty. The housekeepers and desk staff don't speak/speak very little English so you have to be patient.

Exhaust fan/light combo in bathroom was very noisy and the light flickered. Shower stall could use cleaning and new grout. Floor was dirty in bathroom.

I never seen any good service from that hotel

Lots of parking! Pool was nice. Great breakfast and coffee available all day. We did go during painting of the building, but did not change the experience. Staff were all nice and helpful. Rooms were clean and comfortable.
