We choose this motel when we are in St Augustine only for concerts at The Amp and possibly a beach visit during the stay. The location is great for concerts, and the motel is less expensive than other nearby options! The Lion Inn is super close to restaurants and a brewery, and it isn't a terrible walk to/from The Amp when rideshares are super pricey. The Lion Inn consistently provides a clean, no-frills room at a reasonable expense. The bedding was so uncomfortable, I struggled to get a good night's sleep during the weekend there. The pillows are too flat and soft, and the mattress is too hard. I know that's a preference thing, but I'll have to try to remember to bring my own pillow in the future. The water also takes a very long time to get hot for a shower, and it never did really get above "warm."

Reasonable price and a great sized room. Fridge working, location fantastic, a half hours walk over the drawbridge to the historic district with a multitude of unique shops. Beds were comfy. Plenty of parking, and a pool( not used) but looked ok. A little dated, in need of a little work but nothing else

Location was not bad. Room was extremely dated and unclean; and the sheets were old.

The location is perfect! There are many great spots (walking distance) for cocktails, coffee, breakfast and convenience. I chose this location because of this attribute as well as it being a short walk into downtown! It’s older, so the traffic can be heard from the room. But I am a light sleeper.

it was close to the st augustine amphitheater, the beds were decent the male owner or manager didn’t really want to help, simply argued and sent his kind daughters to do what would take seconds to solve, the shower was also cold

Distance to the reason people come to Saint Augustine is 1 mile. You can do it on foot if you had to. For some reason I thought there were larger beds and that’s what I booked. It wasn’t uncomfortable. Room are rather small but I wasn’t paying several hundred dollars a night at Christmas, either. Life is a trade off. The staff was friendly enough. The location was good. 4 of 5 is a good score based on the you get what you pay for scale. Invest in larger towels and better pillows and I’d likely try the place out again.

Our stay at the Lion Inn was excellent! The staff were very friendly and helpful, it was a short drive to the historic district, and plenty of food and coffee within a short walking distance from the hotel. We would definitely stay here again!
