Ameristar Casino Resort and Spa

For the price, this hotel was definitely not worth it. Staff was awesome but our room was dirty, AC didn't work and the bed was extremely uncomfortable. Do not recommend.

Property is well maintained, inside and out. Beds are comfortable and the bathroom is large with a great walk in shower. Loved the step-down into the separate room which overlooks the river or city. There is a TV in there as well as a large sofa. Not too long of a walk from the garage or the casino. Nice casino too. Will definitely return.

The check in person was friendly and efficient. Our room was wonderful and clean. The rooms are very large.

The good: * huge, comfortable rooms * great location * free parking * friendly staff The bad: * the housekeeping is slow, non-responsive (example: they didn't take out our garbage for days, even when requested) * smoke smell permeates the whole property * terrible, and I mean terrible, internet quality

Double sinks came in handy. Loved the step down sitting room . Plenty of parking. Areas from garage to inside, could have been cleaner. Microwave for guests would have been nice. Overall, enjoyed the stay.

The pool is beautiful, the casino is fun, and St. Charles has a lot of amazing restaurants and bars nearby!

Upon arrival, we observed several cleanliness and maintenance issues in the room. The couch had visible spots and hair on it. There appeared to be red stains or residue on the curtains. Additionally, the toilet was not functioning properly. These conditions did not meet our expectations for cleanliness and comfort and negatively impacted our stay.

All around great experience

The spa was PHENOMENAL. Casino was just a casino…smoking and gross. Rooms were clean and staff was great.

Rooms are nice

The facility is clean, lots of stores and restaurants, arcade & helpful front desk. We never saw housekeeping during our stay, our DND sign was not out, so not sure why they never stopped in. The pool area is closed to kids on the weekend d/t the bar at the outdoor pool and no lifeguard. However, the indoor pool was empty all weekend. It made no sense why the indoor pool area couldn’t be open for families. We had some disappointed kids. I even called ahead to make sure the pool would be open during our stay, and there was no mention of the adult only rule during the weekend. Had we known that, we would’ve booked elsewhere. We tried to make the best of it and bought arcade cards for the kids, and desserts from Copper Whisk which were nice.

I didn’t think kids could swim in their pool so I wasn’t going to reserve a room. I am so glad that I decided to go in and talk to staff and I found out that kids can actually swim during the week Monday- Thursday so I got the room and it was amazing. Hands-down the best place I’ve stayed.

We had a great stay here! Pool was awesome with plenty of sunshine, and convenience of restaurants between hotel and casino that were walkable was great! Will definitely stay again!!

Great room and a comfortable bed

The beds are super comfortable and the rooms are nicely laid out. However, for the price it is not worth it. You cannot get breakfast until 8 am, there is no shuttle service anywhere and no formal parking format. For the price you pay and the "resort fee" you would expect a valet or some sort of structured parking arrangement.

Very nice place and rooms were spacious and clean. The only complaint is that they do not allow kids in the pool on the weekends, I understand this is a casino with mostly adults staying here but this was a disappointment
