Clean and very spacious room, good breakfast, friendly staff at check out but not check in with different person, good food at the bar, friendly bartender and very nice ambience/lounge area, good location

Eve in the front desk delivered! :-) She was kind, friendly, professional and very efficient at checking me in. Going above and beyond to ensure my needs were met. I would definitely be staying at this hotel again with this kind of service. Please be sure to give her the recognition and appreciation she deserves. Additionally, my room was very clean, and comfortable.

Everything was clean and the staff were great!

The breakfast buffet offered a decent selection, but I would recommend labeling the food items. Guests with food allergies or dietary restrictions should be prepared to ask staff about ingredients, as nothing was identified.The biggest disappointment was the plumbing. During both mornings of our stay, the restroom near the breakfast area remained backed up and out of service. Given its location near the dining area, this created an unpleasant and unsanitary environment.Unfortunately, on the second evening, the toilet in our room also became clogged. I reported the issue to the front desk, but I was informed that maintenance would not be available until 8:00 the following morning. The front desk associate was courteous and doing the best she could while working alone, so I do not fault her. However, it is not reasonable for guests to be without a functioning toilet overnight, and the hotel should have an after-hours plan in place to address emergencies.If the plumbing issues were resolved and breakfast items properly labeled, would have rated this hotel much higher.

Our minibar was broken so we did not have that convience. They said we could keep it downstairs which is not convenient but nice of them. Of course we forgot everything when we left.

the staff was decent. the bartender was outstanding. i do not understand at all what you wanted regarding housekeeping so we never ordered any. the toilet ran constantly - do you all have a maintenance schedule? there's holes in the carpet in the hall way. the interior of the hotel could be maintained better

The Hyatt Place is located in an old post office building on the lower edge of downtown St. Paul. We were visiting to see a show at the Ordway, which was just a 10 minute or so walk up the hill. The location was great, right next to the train station and within easy walking distance of the main attractions of downtown. We used the cheaper parking right across the street which was convenient. The bed was nice and comfy, and the room felt huge with the high ceilings and massive windows. It was a nice couples getaway for me and my wife. The hotel breakfast was quite basic, but it was included so hard to complain about that. Parking on site seems exorbitantly expensive, but there were other options close by for parking. The doors tend to slam hard, and we could hear them throughout the hallways in the night. These are all pretty nitpicky, and our overall stay was good.

This is a nice place to stay. It's conveniently located right downtown. There's parking across the street which is much cheaper than valet. Breakfast was average. The room was clean and fairly modern. Very nice shower.

Had spacious room but very little staff available

Great location! High ceilings in the room with floor to ceiling windows are fantastic. The valet system was very efficient and the staff were always friendly. The only area with significant room for improvement is the complimentary breakfast. Wish we would have skipped the watery eggs and stale waffles and opted for one of the great breakfast spots nearby.

Great stay. We were here for 4 nights with kids and pets and it was a comfortable and clean stay. The room was large enough to sleep all of us and the incredibly high ceilings and windows made it feel spacious. Would stay again anytime.

While the room felt clean and was probably the most spacious room we have ever experienced, it smelled horribly of cigarettes and marijuana. The history of the building is neat, but the lack of included parking and location in general wasn’t ideal for our travel party. While we appreciate an included breakfast, we opted to skip it after the first day as the options were meh.
