Bar had nice bartenders

Property is a little dated, but the location, pool, lake and peaceful balcony made up for it. Had a relaxing weekend watching a wedding, attending our event and then returning to a lot of friendly guests. Will definitely back.

Beds very comfortable, bathroom up to date but needs grab bars in shower or have a walk in shower. Loved the grounds and the room that overlooked the lake. Loved the walkways, tables and benches for guests to walk and sit by lake. AC needs a good cleaning a little musty when turned on. Ceilings could use a new paint job. Carpet and furniture in good shape. Sliding glass door needs to have windows washed. Loved the indoor center with tables, garden theme. Wedding taking place. What a nice venue. 👌

No restaurant. Ac not that good. Intermittent hot water. No good tv stations.

This is a very big rundown hotel that must have been really something in its heyday. The rooms are clean but basic and it is not a cheap hotel. It is in a good location but I do not recomment that you stay here.

Convenient to sights and highways. This used to be a very nice hotel back in the day.

The property claims to be undergoing a large amount of construction and remodeling. However, this place was far from well maintained. The hotel is huge overall, and must have been a really cool place when it first opened. One good part of it besides the location was the view of Cedar Pond outside of the room. However, standing on the balcony gets you drenched with dripping water from AC's and the roof above. The siding looked newer but was installed poorly, with gaps showing ply wood underneath and overhangs that needed to be redone. The road in and parking lot were also full of potholes. Walking in, the building smells of mold and mildew. The pool room in the center was over powered by the smell of chlorine and was clearly not well managed. The hallways were very long, smelled of mold, signage and outlets were either missing or hanging in multiple spots, and there were no employees or house keepers anywhere in sight, anywhere but the front desk or in areas they were not renting out. There weren't many people staying either which have the hotel a creepy vibe. Our room had such an uncomfortable bed that felt like we were sleeping on wooden boards. There were no microwaves, no fridges, and no safes in our room or our friends', though we paid for a Deluxe suite. The bathtub also had a gaping hole for a drain, which makes it easy to lose items. We are not at all impressed with this place and are actually saddened to see it in such bad shape. It had a lot of potential at one time.

The front desk was so helpful! Our room was quiet, had a great sleep. We took the kayaks out and had a wonderful time.

Expedia needs to update this properties availability. There is NO RESTAURANT, BAR OR BUFFETT BREAKFAST on site. The inside smells stale. The rooms with a balcony are in the facility! You have to request a outdoor balcony. The facility needs a lot of TLC! The outside needs TLC. The grassy area is half grass half dirt with weeds. The building needs a desperate re-paint. There is no help available with your luggage. The beach is approximately 50×50ft. No water tours or boats. The lake is beautiful and very Zen. The staff have told me that they have many complaints about what is offered online via what is actually offered once they arrive. This facility could once again be a beautiful welcoming get-a-way with some work. Including the vacant dilapidated Ox Tavern on site. All this place offers is a clean bed and a relaxing lake to look at.

This is an older hotel near a lake, so the hotel was as expected a little lake-ish. Outdoor area is nice. Picnic tables, fire pit are along the lake, dock is closed off but they did have 2 paddle boats sitting there, however I did not ask about these, so I am unsure if you can use them. They also had firewood, but I was here to visit family so I did not utilize many things. The hotel does need some love but rooms were clean. There was Not a fridge in this room. They do have older carpet and our sink had a little leak. There is a pool and the pool was clean but there is not a hot tub. The pool area is well lit (this was a concern as I saw a review that said it was dark in the pool area). Expedia states that there is a restaurant onsite, but there is not and that is of no fault of the hotel. Staff persons were helpful and nice, I spoke with the as I had an issue with my reservation (again not the hotels fault). I would also suggest going directly to the hotel site if you are going to book this hotel and not using expedia. There are two hotels named Sturbridge so be sure to know which one you are booking.

Not very clean, room was so far away from the entrance, requested a replacement pillow and it came with no case.

Bed was broken and ac hardly worked but everything else was great

Nothing It was not up to our standards. Rooms were dirty and it smelled horrible!

I didn’t like it it was dirty, I have the video of the bathroom I was disgusting, the room there was no refrigerator and microwave they charged me for the refrigerator and the microwave for every single day that I was going to stay there, the ac was not working and the room smell terrible.

The outside table to our room had cigarettes and beer bottles on it and it reeked of smoke, the staff were very nice and changed us to another room. No mini fridge the hot tub she said was no longer in use because it broke and they never fixed it and neither was the bar downstairs open anymore , the outside looks so run down. It’s such a same because at one point the host hotel was beautiful these new owners have really let the place rot. We did use the pool and that was nice.

Gentleman working at the front desk was very helpful and welcoming.
