Hotel Duval, Autograph Collection

Good Hotel. I was overcharged but given a refund immediately.

Complimentary (full) Breakfast was awesome!!! Made even better because we were Bonvoy members. (Easy sign-up.) Rooms cleaned daily, even on weekends. I was not aware of the "mandatory" valet parking, $33 per night fee. Add in the $7.25 gratuity, and that adds up quickly. However, the Valet Guys told me that parking on the street, by the meters, was not monitored on weekends and holidays, so this was a no brainer. Very safe community / area too. Second issue, fortunately there were only 2 for me, was the shower floor. My room used "raised stones", which my be to reduce slip hazards, but my flat feet did NOT enjoy that experience. Crocs were activated.

The staff at Hotel Duval was excellent. Ashley checked me in and was wonderful. The breakfast was great and the staff made sure keep it hot and full, even a little entertaining. The valet staff gave me recommendations for things to do in the city, which was helpful. The rooftop bar was great as well as the view. I can't wait to visit again.

Unfortunately this property is looking and smelling tired. The good news is they are offering nice perks like free breakfast and drinks at the rooftop bar. It’s a cool building, just needs a renovation.

The hotel lacked a pleasant scent, and the quality of the shampoo, conditioner, and soap could have been better.

The building dates to the 1960s; probably for that reason it was not as well designed as more contemporary hotels to block out traffic noise. The staff, decor, restaurant and service were otherwise excellent.

I was so excited to stay at a nice hotel. I even paid extra for a "corner" room. What a disappointment! To start, everything was kind of dirty. The roof top restaurant had bits of trash everywhere and lots of smokers on the terrace. The one bartender was friendly but had too many customers to keep up with. The bedroom was fine, what I would expect from a days inn. The mirrors were all cracked and chipped. The corner room has windows I feel would fit more in a prison than a nice hotel. The shower floor was covered in soap scum or something so I put the bathmat over it to take a shower. The bathroom door also didn't quite fit and left a gap. All of the furnishings were scratched up. Worst of all, the bed was terrible, it had a deep divet in the center which made it incredibly uncomfortable, I ended up sleeping sideways because it was a little more comfortable that way even with my feet hanging over the edge. Oh and it's also like $20 to park.
