Grand Beach Resort Hotel

Grand Beach Resort Hotel is about a 10-15 minute drive to downtown Traverse City, so it's in a little calmer location. It has its own private beach with beautiful views of this inlet of Lake Michigan. Towels for the beach are provided and the hotel has rows of beach chairs already on the beach for guests to use. Included in the rate is a choice of breakfasts (like hard boiled eggs, cereal, fruit, muffin, orange juice) which is delivered outside your door and you pick the time. Coffee is in the lobby all day. The staff is VERY nice and helpful. Parking is a little tight since many travel with large vehicles on vacation. The facility is clean overall. A free community shuttle can take you to downtown Traverse City and these small buses swing by on the main road every 10-15 minutes or so. Be aware that shuttles running routes not on the main road have a small fee. This is our second time here, both coincided with the National Cherry Festival/Fourth of July. Would definitely recommend.

So nice right on the beach!

There was a spot to post a letter which saved me a trip to the post office. This location is 3 miles from the city shops, we liked that as it was less crowded than the main city beach front.

Good accommodation, very central location, and everything was in working condition. The breakfast delivered to the room was adequate.

Really a subpar experience. Some stuff was great, other stuff just below average for $350+ a night to stay! Some staff was helpful and friendly others had an absolutely awful attitude. We called for an early check-in, staff that answered said they would call us when the room was ready and never did. Also we were under the impression we were getting a beach view room and got there and it wasnet beach view. We were told it would be another $370 to upgrade even after paying nearly $1100 for three days. Seems like we paid more then the staying experience was worth…

Our stay was amazing! The property is clean and beautiful. The breakfast service was great! Everyone was friendly and helpful. I wish we would have booked a room with the water view. Next time!

All around everything is amazing. Hotel staff is there ready to help you in any way. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast daily delivered right to your room. I enjoy the beach view room with balcony. By far my favorite hotel in Traverse City. Planning many more trips there.

We just stopped overnight on our way to Munising but had great views, clean beds and friendly staff. Bed could use updating.

Loved our beach view/side room. Had a little table on the little patio. Nice to have the kayaks available and the beach chairs and loungers practically right outside the door.
