Good location

Dated property. Pictures are not aligned to experience.

It was very clean. It is very outdated. The furniture, carpet etc was old. The lighting in the lobby and rooms were dull and lacked the brightness that would really highlight its unique features.

We spent 4 nights and enjoyed the beautiful landscaping and took a walk along the adjacent golf course. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We only ate breakfast one time and it was adequate.
-
Even after discussing with the hotel manager, and declining to pay, they still put it on my Amex.

Cleaning staff did a great job. Had a shrimp dinner another day and it was delicious and the waitress was good. The coffee maker was broken the first morning and it took a while to get it replaced but I did get it my the next morning

The staff at this beautiful hotel provided an excellent stay.

We enjoyed our stay. Had a problem with the water temperature in the bathtub. We let the staff know there was a problem and they were going to look into it.
-
There was no microwave in the room and no breakfast. A housekeeper also attempted to enter our room without knocking or announcing herself in any way, over an hour before checkout time. The property was clean and quiet but I would not stay here again.

If you’re headed for a shopping trip at somerset mall, this is the perfect place to stay. For the most part it was clean however I had towels that had hair clippings on them and the shower with hair in it. Like the prior guest shaved/trimmed their beard/hair and no one cleaned the clippings! When I told them they just brought more towels and did not remove the soiled toils. Staff was nice, just wished they did slightly better. I can’t say I wouldn’t stay here again, I do believe the place was great for the cost and clean. I just think I had a housekeeper that was having a bad day because my friends room was just fine!

The Somerset was a nice hotel in a great location for access to the tourist places I wanted to visit and the suburbs where my old friends now live making visiting easy. The restaurant was closed for the weekend so I thought it very nice we were offered coffee, juice, fresh fruit and muffins in the lobby. The bed was comfortable and the room and bathroom large. The pillows have seen better days. I requested a feather pillow and none were available which was a problem for my sleeping and neck pain. Hallway noise also seemed high due the way room doors slammed when customers on my floor came and went.

Very nice hotel showing its sign of age. Elevator was in need of repair - many of lights in the buttons didn’t work, most importantly, the ground floor or number one. The elevator would also pause for what seemed a very long time maybe 20 seconds after reaching his floor before the door open. On the first few times using it it was very unnerving. The public areas were very clean with very upscale furniture throughout the lobby area. There was a massive outdoor garden with seating that I’m sure they use for special events. It’s an old hotel in a very upscale area that just needs some updating. Interestingly enough, the door to my room on the eighth floor did not have a deadbolt or a device like a chain or a bar to keep someone from getting in if they got past the door locked. I haven’t noticed that in recent memory.

Very disappointed…no free bottles of water in room; had to pay $5.00 per small bottle of water. No room service was very inconvenient. Night staff desk lady was very rude with poor attitude. Upon arrival at 2:30 A.M., the elevator had strong odor of pot smoke. When this was reported to the desk clerk, she gave the impression of not caring and had no intention of reporting this problem to her superiors…dismissed our concern. Next day, the whole 2nd floor had strong pot smoke odor. Carpet in our room and toilet were dirty.
