Motel 6 Tuscaloosa, AL – University

From the photos I thought perhaps this would be a cool vibe/remodeled motel. I paid $500 a night (only place available for parents weekend on a football weekend). Location was so sketchy I would have left and slept on my daughters dorm room floor if my boyfriend wasn't with me. No housekeeping so no clean sheets or towels (serriously???). Only 2 very small bath towels. One tiny shampoo bottle that was only enough for one hair washing (again, no housekeeping). Bed was horrible - could feel the springs from the mattress all night and it squeaked with every motion. Next time I'll stay in Birmingham and spend the extra to uber to the campus. Maybe if less than $100 a night it would be ok, but if going to price gouge, at least have housekeeping and towels! Exactly what you'd expect from a motel 6, don't be fooled by the photos that make it look kind of cute!

The room appeared clean. Fixtures are modern and updated. Amenities are minimal, but that was reflected in the price. Overall my 3-night stay was comfortable enough. But one day I woke up and I had a giant cockroach in my hair. Later I saw another 2-inch long roach by the toilet. I killed both, but kept feeling like there was something crawling around my hair the rest of yhe day. Gross.

Nothing at all too sketchy & lots of attitude from staff about what was being deliberately put the unprofessionalism for no reason saying we couldn’t change rooms after 30 mins is crazy literally had to stay the night cause didn’t have no where else to go & was tired. What I didn’t like about my stay was the cleanliness of the room. The sheets had noticeable spots and there was dog hair throughout the room. Since I’m allergic to dogs, this caused me to have a bad reaction and made it difficult to feel comfortable during my stay. I expected the room to be properly cleaned and inspected before I arrived. Tissue wet as hell like it had been used not even no new roll.

Great experience.

My only complaint was the ac, it was not big enough to cool the room and it was kinda warm.

Will stay again in the future

No hair dryer they have an iron & an ironing board but no hair dryer.

We travel with our dogs and dogs stay free here so this is our go to place in Tuscaloosa. It’s convenient, clean, inexpensive and they have a small fenced area for the pups. It’s not fancy but it has everything we need at a great price. Staff is always friendly and helpful. McFarland is a busy street so it can be a little noisy but earplugs do the trick.

Bed made noise and moved around.

We stayed here while we were moving my daughter into college. Everything was great! We had an issue with the tv in our room and the man from the office helped us until it was fixed! Very nice and clean rooms will definitely be staying here when visiting my daughter!

Don’t let the outside appearance fool you. The desk clerk that checked us in was very friendly and accommodating. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Even though it’s on a busy street I was surprised by how quiet it was. We just needed a room for the night on our way through so this worked for us.

Shockingly this was a nice motel6. We were on the last night of our road trip and just needed to rest. It was pricey for motel6 but it was a nice room.
