Ameristar Casino Hotel Vicksburg

There was water damage and mildew everywhere. The lobby ceiling was full of mildew and water marks. Only one elevator was working and took forever to get to the lobby. The light fixtures up on the floors had water marks all over them. All the doors to the rooms were covered in a layer of mildew. The bathroom had mold on the tile around the floor and closet. There was no standard method of making the beds so one looked slept in. Even the towels were just thrown on the hooks. No level of pride was taken in making sure things looked nice and clean. We found the entire hallway and room to smell of mold. Btw there was a small dehumidifier in the elevator lobby on the floor to our room. So they know that there is a major problem but little is being done about it. I went back down to the front desk and explained I could not stay there due to the mold and mildew with my allergies. They were very kind but did not seem surprised in the least. I would hope they would start repairing the hotel and only putting people on the floor that is repaired till the rest is done. This is not a healthy environment for anyone to stay in with all the black mold and mildew. Sad because the employees are incredibly kind and friendly.

We got there in our travels late at night. There was no one to check us in so I called the number and asked for security and security someone over to find the front desk person. Security never found the person and they left so after another 15 minutes, I called again. During that fun conversation, the front desk person showed up she had actually was helping a woman who had disabilities moved to a different room because of a problem she had had in that room and she couldn’t do it all herself. That really spoke a lot to me. The rooms were clean. Everything was very accommodating. We only stayed one night. We got up the next morning and went on our travels. The casino is across the street and if I had more time, I might’ve gone down there too.

I mean the beds were comfortable and the overnight staff evening rather was very nice the lady in the morning acted like I was bothering her because she was on the phone when I asked her about coffee. The safe in the room was broken and up in the top of the closet the hair dryer looks like it had melted but it did work. The beds were made in a way that they looked horrible but at least it was clean but it was very sloppily done. I'm not really sure I would stay there again. Also it does say don't park in front of the doors but I had to let my handicapped mother walk because everybody was parked in front of the doors and I couldn't get close enough to let her out. That was the little frustrating but that really wasn't on the hotel that was on people and Humanity

So tell me why we didn't have a room? We were on the schedule and we arrived over 5 hours late to check in YET no rooms were cleaned and ready bc the staff is so lazy they cant do their jobs properly. They did try to talk us into a smoking room but we're both non smokers so why would we want a stinky ass room? We had to eat our dinner in the lobby and wait 45 minutes for someone to get there and clean a room for us. THEN when we get to our room there we're NO towels in the bathroom so we could shower. My veteran husband who was in pain from all the driving had to go downstairs to ask for some. Also, the ac makes a super loud banging noise every time it shuts off. Makes for a restless night being constantly woken up by that. The photos make the hotel and rooms look luxurious and nice but they're not. The carpets are dingy and sticky (dont go barefoot) and they lack simple things like towels and liners in the trash cans. We were not impressed and won't be using this hotel again.

The ice machine was on the second floor and it was very gross covered in mold. The night time check in clerk was very friendly. The daytime clerk was not very friendly.

Staff was great at check in; the beds were comfortable; room was nice size. It smelled of weed in the elevators and the pool was out of service

Front desk needs to be more aware of servicing customers instead of personal grievances. Also implement late check out to the hotel since it’s a casino hotel

We checked in at midnight and left at 5am. Friendly staff, have is extra bottles of water. Hot shower and clean beds!

Truly one of the most disgusting reservations I have ever made on Expedia. The entire property is filthy - greasy floors, trash behind the curtain, smoky pillows, sticky carpet and even graffiti on the furniture in the room with things scratched into it. The staff very fine and very pleasant. I recognize that this is located to be convenient to the casino across the road, but it was truly too awful even for a night. We could not find an alternative. This is on me for leaving it till late. We had children with us. It was late. We slept with our clothes on.

Do not stay here. Room was dirty and the hotel needs a complete renovation.

When we checked in we had to go back downstairs to get toilet paper and wash clothes. The light in the sink area was out, and the air-conditions did not work. We only stayed 2 hour and left and went and found a nicer, cleaner hotel with all the systems operating. I definitely would not recommend this hotel.

This place was a total dump, we pulled up to a hotel we thought was in a casino but it’s actually across the street. The picture in the app is not what you will find. The casino walking in smells like straight up roaches and weed. The hotel bathroom had hair in the tub and smells like weed.

Even though the water wasn't functioning properly (in the whole city not just this hotel), the staff was helpful and accommodating despite not having working water. Also the hotel was clean.
