Garner Hotel Virginia Beach North by IHG

Nice room, clean, hotel very close to the beach.

The distance from the beach is excellent but views could be wayyyy better. Breakfast was decent and very clean. Ac unit had crackers stuck inside from the previous customers. The electricity went out multiple times at night making a noise that woke us up multiple times (There was no lightning just high winds). It was not addressed at all by the staff.

The room amenities were limited, no coffee maker, very few hangers, and only one drawer for a room that slept 5. The staff was very helpful and the room was clean

This is a "pet friendly"hotel. My room had an overwhelming urine smell. After talking to other guest, they said the same and some said a wet smell. My dog didn't even like this hotel.

This hotel is exactly what I needed in the exact moment I needed. The rooms were EXACTLY as pictured, which means they were CLEAN! I originally had another hotel but it was horrible. I found Garner and this will be the place I stay at Virginia Beach.

So it all started when we arrived to the hotel. My husband, daughter and I drive in from Atlanta. We were so excited to arrive to Virginia Beach! Once we arrived and were inside at the front desk, there was no one there! We thought that maybe they were in the restroom.

The bathroom tub wouldn't drain so we were unable to use the shower more than once a day. The carpet smelled like spoiled milk. There was one of the largest cockroaches I have ever seen in the hallway. The staff was incredibly slow and there was a line to speak with the receptionist almost every time we passed through the lobby. This hotel advertises "partial ocean views" which is true but the hotel is one block away from the beach and the view is between the two actual beachfront properties. I wish we had stayed anywhere but here.
