We requested the room be cleaned several days. It was not cleaned. Then when we asked for clean towels and toilet paper, we had to physically hunt down a maid and get them ourselves.

Close to the beach. Property was pretty ran down. No bugs, but rooms did not feel very clean. First room we were in had a horrible air conditioner. Very loud. Room felt damp and sticky. We were right over top of a party. Walked out on the balcony and was hit with the smell of pot. Room below us had covered their entire balcony with a blanket. When the elevator would open on its doors on the second floor all you could smell was weed for a couple days. Maintenance man was very nice and changed our room. Better air conditioner but had a funny smell. It worked but I’m glad we were only there 5 days. Would not stay here again. But the Mexican restaurant in the bottom of the hotel was great!

This place is old and nasty..for the 4th of July I stayed here..out of 4 elevators..only 1 was working on a holiday weekend..then as I go downstairs to let the front desk know I see roaches..another traveler was at the desk complaining about the same thing..I don't know what happened to this hotel..it used to be so nice..serving breakfast..now u can't even get clean towels..all I can say is..they need to tear down the whole hotel and start from scratch !!!!

Filthy, rooms smelt like mold, shower curtain and tub full of mold and dirty. Nails sticking up from the tattered carpet. NEVER AGAIN!

Just location Everything was worst except the location

Location The hotel is old and infested with roaches. Room 501 was unbelievably disgusting. The bathroom had roaches, the bed was hard, the curtains were falling down, and the sink had no water pressure. The indoor pool is old, and the elevators are as well. Stay away from this hotel. You will be sorry if you book here.

Great location Rooms are Not modern, didn't have the coffee maker it said the room had bore sis our balcony have two chairs and a table like the others. There was a rusted desk chair out there and a makeshift table. The shower floor felt like it was going to break and the drains were very slow draining. We had toilet paper stuck in the peephole of the door when we got there.

Hotel is in a great location but is outdated and not as clean as we hoped. Value for price not bad. Probably wouldn’t stay there again though.

Elevators were barely working, vending machines are not functioning, doors were not working properly.

This is our 4th year staying at the Ramada Plaza VA Beach. Beautiful oceanfront rooms. Neptune Statue seen from our balcony. Boardwalk just a few steps out the door. Large gym and nice indoor and outdoor pool. Staff is outstanding. Room super clean. Free parking (garage or outdoor ) AC nice and cold. We love it. Always sad to leave.

The Ocean View from the balcony. I did not like the filthy room, the room was so dirty like it hadn’t been cleaned. I reported it to staff at the front desk. They basically told me that if I didn’t like it, they couldn’t move me to another room, but I could leave the hotel which there was no more vacancies at the other hotels around. The room was honestly so dirty that they had the maintenance man come up to the room to clean the bathroom which still had pubic hair in the shower, walls had to be wiped down due to the non-cleaning of the room, the telephone had all this built-up dirt and filth which looked like crust, the toilet was horrible with black streaks around the seat, the floors were never vacuumed, clock sitting there, not working with 1 prong instead of 2 basically if you did not have a phone or a watch, you wouldn’t have never known the time, the telephone in the room had so much built-up crust on it that look like it had never been cleaned in years, there was still crumbs over where the microwave sets even up on the ledge by the microwave. Basically they sent the maintenance man to clean the room for all that I mentioned to try to make me happy but this was a trip that my daughter wanted to take for her graduation and it was totally not worth $403 for the night or any other night the way that hotel looked and the staff acted horrible except for the maintenance guy named Justin or Josh who came to clean the room after we were checked in. The room looked like they should have rented it for free.

The bathroom was a major concern, as there was mold in the shower, the tub area appeared rusty and worn, and the faucet was missing. These issues felt like potential safety and maintenance hazards that should be addressed. The carpet, bed, seating, and overall appearance of the room gave the impression that the hotel has not been properly updated or cared for in a long time. The one positive aspect of the stay was the oceanfront location, which was a nice perk. The staff was also the highlight of the experience—they were polite, welcoming, and did their best to assist. However, the hotel itself needs a significant renovation and improvement in cleanliness, maintenance, and overall upkeep before I would consider staying again.

Bad Qualities: I booked 4 rooms and spotted bugs in two of the rooms. There is an indoor and outdoor pool. Both need updates and cleaning. It took a while to check-out because there were not enough luggage carts available. The clerks at the front desk at checkout were not helpful. We asked for a luggage cart and was told to look around on each floor. It is the hotel's job to provide luggage carts. Guest should not have to search each floor.
