Overall pretty place, room clean but they need to pay attention to the sand.
-
Easy walk to the beach. Location is really good for all the activities in the area.
-
The room was extremely dirty and very old; the armchairs were very dirty.
-
This motel was filthy; the floor wasn’t mopped and we found a filthy sock on the floor when we checked in. The sofa bed didn’t work, the cushions were off the couch and maintenance couldn’t fix it so we couldn’t use it. The smell from the dirty couch was throughout the entire room. Worst place we’ve ever stayed in.

Staff was very pleasant and great to work with. Paid an additional $60.00 to upgrade from a double to one with a sofa bed. Well, the "bed" was absolutely horrible. It was a an unbelievably thin mattress, and we had to ask for SEVERAL blankets to use as padding to cover the coils. Please Note: it was brought to our attention that management has previously been made aware but have done nothing to fix the issue. It was room 216

We arrived and immediately knew something was wrong. The outside of the property looked poorly maintained, and the inside was even worse. The lobby/office had a terrible smell, and it appeared the owners or staff were cooking inside the office/lobby area, which made the whole place feel very unprofessional and unsanitary. When we got to the room, it was disgusting. The room smelled bad, it was not properly cleaned, and we saw bugs/roaches. The overall condition of the room and property made us feel extremely uncomfortable and unsafe staying there with our children. We notified management right away that the room was unacceptable and that we wanted a refund. Instead of handling the situation professionally, they refused to refund us. We left shortly after arriving because there was no way we could stay there. This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. Dirty room, bugs, bad smell, poor customer service, and no accountability from management. I would strongly advise anyone considering this hotel to avoid it.

I wouldn’t stay here again. I booked a balcony.. didn’t get one. There was zero water pressure. My room had a leak. The floors were dirty, and there was a part of the floor in the bathroom that little bugs came out of. The parking was terrible. There was a bucket of cigarette butts just sitting in water right by my room and then someone dumped it out, which was gross. There was something splattered on the wall and on the tv that wasn’t clean before I got there. I had to squeeze into a parking spot and my boyfriend had to climb out of my side which was very annoying.

We did not stay at this hotel. It was deplorable and I refused to stay also got my money refunded. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

The rooms were just ok not horrible. The staff was very friendly and helpful especially when it came to the overflowing of cars because not enough parking spaces. This was only a problem on the weekend.

I stayed here for 2 nights with my children. The pool was nice and refreshing. The kids enjoyed feeding/ seeing ducks and geese from the balcony of our room and the walk out pier. We also spotted turtles and large carp. I seen numerous guest fishing from the pier so if you choose to stay here a fishing pole would be nice to have. The beds were decent. The shower had soap dispensers which included dial shampoo conditioner and body wash I thought that was a nice touch. It actually smelled nice. The room was spacious and beds were clean. The fridge was clean and cold. The balcony had nice patio furniture. The location was great. There is a 7 eleven right next door. Plenty of places to shop and eat within walking distance. It was quiet, kind of a hole in the wall kind of place. It’s all you need for a budget vacation. The microwave was very worn out and should probably be replaced. My tv worked the first night of my stay but didn’t the second night. The owner did say he could have reset it. It wasn’t very concerning to me bc I don’t go to the beach to watch tv. Parking was extremely tight. One night my car was blocked in due to the layout of the parking lot. It’s very very tight but honestly the hotel can’t help that. There is a small parking lot beside the hotel but you have to pay it’s owned by VA beach. I think if that parking area was made available to hotel guests that would help fix their parking issues. I was going to add 1 extra night to my stay last minute it was a Friday night in June when I asked how much the lady said 420$. That is ocean front room pricing. I was quite shocked at that price increase considering I only paid 96$ per night for the other 2 nights. I ended up going with a different hotel for half that price so it all worked out. I will say that this is not hotel is not worth 420$ per night. There are much nicer options very close by for that price or even half that price.

Booked a stay ahead of time and when we arrived at 5pm rooms were not ready, after 20 min she walked us to a room that had people in it, then to another room that was filthy, stains all over sofa beds and beds..when I pointed out the stains her response was we can put a sheet over. Requested refund and left. Do not book here

This property was sufficient for our needs, which was basically a place to sleep and shower during a soccer tournament. We didn’t use the pool, as it was a short walk to the beach. Rooms are basic but clean. Lakeside rooms have balconies. Owners were friendly and responsive. Biggest drawback is the very small parking lot. Even a small SUV was difficult to maneuver.

El baño no estaba muy limpio, nunca limpiaron la habitación, la habitación podrida a cigarro,

The floor was filthy when we checked in. The door didnt seal shut all the way ( we were on the ground floor). There were bugs in the room. Parking sucked. There was black mold around the outlet. We ended uo only staying one night out of three due to the conditions. They do not do refunds.

Room was clean and fresh. No insects. Great view of lake with ducks and turtles. Kids fed the ducks. Swimming pool very clean. Quiet sleep nights. Management and cleaning staff very nice and helpful.

we drove down from New Jersey and wanted a room that wasn't going to be too expensive but nice. sometimes, when looking for a room, cheaper than the rest seems scary but I am so glad we picked this one. Despite seeing how small the parking lot was, everything was perfect for us. We didn't get there until nearly midnight and the staff, a family I assume, stayed up and waited for us with no complaints. They gave us what they called "the best room" and I figured they probably say that to everyone but when we saw our room, I believe it actually was the best room! We were in room 223, which was upstairs all the way in the left corner with a beautiful view of the lake which had turtles and ducks and geese and flying fish. The room was very clean and everything worked as it should. The staff was friendly although the cleaning lady was kind of harsh. When I asked her if we can get another trash bag and one more towel, she said "today isn't your cleaning day, I'm doing checkouts". but that was just her, the rest of the staff, the family, was awesome. and we decided to put our trash in an empty chip box we had. we loved waking up to the Lakeview and walking down on the dock to enjoy everything it had to offer. Overall, we had a great time and if we come back down to Virginia, I would enjoy staying here again!

The staff was awesome Parking is very tight but accommodating.

Walking distance to everything you could need. Air conditioning was the coldest I've had in any hotel/motel in recent years. We were able to check in early and the staff was very friendly. The bathroom shower curtains won't stay closed they migrate to the middle due to the bar falling down and the bathroom fan was super dusty. When I flipped my towel up when drying my hair all the dust fell on me and the towel and I felt the need to start all over.
