Surfbreak Virginia Beach Oceanfront, an Ascend Collection Hotel

This was our 2nd stay at this hotel. The ocean view was amazing! I absolutely love this hotel! They have a minimal breakfast but plenty of places around for food. The room was clean and I had no issues with anything. The beds are a little too soft cause when you lay down, it feels like your feet are higher than your head. But I would stay here again.

This hotel is in a great location. There are wonderful views of the ocean. We saw dolphins playing everyday in front of this hotel. I would have loved for some musicians to be playing at the bar. I would recommend.

Great place to stay that’s mediocre. Drawers in dresser kept opening as if the building was tipping. Had to tape them shut.

The door mechanism was completely loose and I didn’t sleep very well because of that they offered $50 off because of the inconvenience. I don’t feel like that’s really worth it. The room was a very typical room nothing special of course the ocean is gonna be beautiful, but we got the fourth floor, which was overlooking a rooftop kind of sucked The staff was absolutely amazing

View was wonderful! Staff was amazing! Love that there is a restaurant is on site! We did have trouble with one of our key cards working, had one replaced, it worked for a day and then next day it did not work. Wish the parking was better, but overflow is a short walk, so not so bad.

Staff was nice and the view was awesome. Ocean front 6 floor great for family getaway.

Overall our stay was okay but I did not like our room. Our ocean view was obstructed by the roof of the hotel restaurant and that kind of spoiled our stay. :/

Hotel was very clean and staff very friendly.

Has to go to the front desk every night and get a new card made. The cards never worked more than once. The staff acted like it happens all the time. So it is an issue that is known and hasn’t been addressed.

It's not a five-star resort, but the rooms were clean, the staff was friendly and accommodating, and our stay was wonderful. We felt welcomed throughout our visit and truly enjoyed our time here. We would happily stay again.

Musty and old carpet. Stained bathtub. Humidity in the room made all our clothes damp. Food in Calypso's restaurant was inedible. Very loud in hallways. Parking was 3 blocks away. Never go back.

We had a great week at the surfside. It is in a great location, rooms keep most sound out. Staff was friendly and helpful. Great spot for a family of 4.

The staff is amazing. The complimentary coffee available 24/7 is amazing as well. Our room was perfect, we did the 2 double beds with the pull out couch. I love that room and it was my second vacation there with my family. I like to be on the 4th floor or higher for the best beach views. The elevators get a little busy but other than that we love going there.

We had a fantastic family vacation while we stayed here. The room was clean, staff was so friendly and helpful. They always were asking my if I needed anything. The beach access was perfect and the restaurant had the best fries. Will be coming back again!
