Seaview Hotel

The property is in desperate need of renovation. Our room smelled like cat urine; we kept the balcony door open at all times to avoid the odor. The shower was clean, but the corners and edges of the bathroom were stained and in need of cleaning. Twice in our coming and going for only a 3 night stay the only elevator was out of service. Unknown if it was out of service at other times. People had to carry luggage up several flights of stairs. The elevator was not working at our check out and we had to carry our luggage down 4 flights of stairs even after moving our car to the top parking level. They had a small coffee pot in the room, but only decaffeinated coffee. Staff said that was all they had. We made the best of our stay despite these issues and the nor'easter that occurred while we were there. The hotel has a prime place on the boardwalk - it is a shame that the property is in such disrepair.

Old look and feel but ok for the balcony view of the beach/ocean. AC must of leaked cause the carpet was wet by the AC unit and staff had a wet/dry vac in the room when I checked into the room. The second day I was there the only elevator stopped working. After spending 20 mins waiting on the 7th floor for the elevator, I took the stairs. Upon check out the clerk did appologize for the broken elevator and said the elevator mechanic was an hour away. Somehow, the hotel should have notified the customers that the elevator was broke vs letting them stand there waiting on the elevator that never showed up.

My room had a musty smell to it the elevator didn't work so had to carry my suitcase up the stairs also the worst problem of all it was infested by roaches I'll never go back there again

We've stayed at hotels at the Virginia Beach oceanfront 20 times over the last 15 yrs. BY FAR, SeaView was the worst we've ever been in. We know it wasn't a 4-5 star hotel we were paying for but we still paid almost $$ for two nights for a room with a small kitchen. We weren't expecting anything fancy for that price but we were at the very least expecting a room that did wreak of mold, a dry carpet & a back door that stayed closed. Those expectations were not met. The room smelled horrible. The back door wouldn't latch closed-the wind was blowing it open. I had to stick a chair up under the broken door know to keep it closed while we slept. The faucet in the bathtub never stopped running. Not a trickle, it was running. Even after those 3 issues, it was late in the day, we were just going to thug it out and get some sleep & stay our two nights. Well, my wife got up, walked to the kitchen in the middle of the night. Normally, we always have our shoes on but since it was the middle of the night, she didn't put hers on. When she got near the kitchen her feet felt that the carpet was soaking wet. The next morning I felt around & figured there was about a 5' x 10' area of carpet just soaking wet , probably from the AC. Spoke w/manager & she offered a smaller room but my wife needed the kitchen for dietary reasons. So we asked for a refund. We had to go back and forth for it and eventually got one nights refund but we still feel we should've gotten both because the room was so bad

Beautiful ocean view rooms. Sheets/bedding and bed clean and comfortable. Everything else about the room was dated and in disrepair. I booked because we needed something affordable so it was what you would expect for $100 a night.

Great location The up keep on building pool needs work, elevator worked on and off last 2 days of stay had to go up and down 10 flights of stairs.

Please expedia take this off your list. Elevator out of order frequently this weekend. No offer to help carry our bag. Wanted to add fee per day for being at resort. Unfriendly desk staff that did not have command of English language . Unable to recommend things to do, we were directed to brochures in a rack. Room had strange odor, need updated. Asked for room clean on Saturday after 2 days, I was not done. Called for it to be done Sunday, desk clerk said “you are leaving tomorrow why clean”. With further demands it was done. No regular coffee only decaf….Stay here at your risk!

No strainer in the bathroom sink to prevent things from going down the drain. Tried house phone to talk to the front desk....nobody answered..no one in attendance at main desk seen at times. Top of parking deck-Internal stairway door left open giving access to the interior of the building. Security? Carpet near the balcony door soaking wet...either from spilled water/cleaning or because the door could never shut properly...door handle about to fall off. Used a chair to stop the door from knocking during the night from wind pressure High safety latch on inside of entrance door has loose screws and about to pull out Not sure the alarm clock works...we tried for a half an hour-no go

Well, the room was OK. We had to pay $35 to get checked in 2 1/2 hours early even though our room was ready or we would’ve had to wait which I think that is wrong since the room was ready and nobody’s waiting, they should’ve let us go on in considering no one else was going to be in that room at that time. the first room we were in we won’t even hear two hours. We went out for a while came backto cut the heat on because it was cold and the heat smell like it was burning and smelled, and it set the smoke detector off we complained about that to the staff staff, and the gentlemen name Marcel or Montel not sure of his name he work 3-11 shift not sure of his name. He help us out and move us to room 306, but the rug was damp. It was wet we took it, because we felt safer on a higher floor. That rug was soaking wet, also other people in different rooms had the same problem with the carpet being wet. The power went out late Saturday night and also on Sunday too Elevader did not work for almost 2 days, also our tv did not work either. We had a very bad experience with this hotel. They do not fix anything, they just moved you to another room if anything wrong. I was told that I would get a discount on what I paid because of all the problems I was having. I was told I had to go through Expedia to request a discount. This is ridiculous. You have people that don’t know had to run this hotel or get things fixed.

The room had a smell. The door handle broken and rusty. They did not clean. No one mention at check in you had to reserve cleaning . The garage looked nasty. Hard to teach front desk no one answers. The toilet did not flush. It was not a good stay. Hotel needs to be updated and cleaned. Not worth the price by no means

Clean, great location, friendly staff

I had an emergency (funeral) and couldn't make my original trip. I contacted the hotel about a refund, but the manager refused to speak with me and never returned my call. I found that extremely unprofessional and ended up taking another few days off work just to make the trip. The room was very small—basically a standard hotel room with no separate sitting area, so families should be aware. The bathroom was also extremely tiny. The AC didn't worked and appeared to need a filter. The room was so hot that we had to sleep with the patio door open. Unfortunately, the patio door was also broken, wouldn't lock properly, and was coming off the track. The rug near the AC was soaking wet and had mold/mildew from the water. Another guest down the hall had to be moved because they reported bugs in their room, and their replacement room was reportedly a downgrade. Management was rude and there was no real conversation or effort to address concerns. The only positive customer service came from the front desk employees. Don't be fooled by the nice front office and hallways—the room condition was a completely different story. The room size may be okay for one person or a couple, but families should beware. Beautiful view, but too many issues and poor management for me to return.

This property lacks maintenance of the most basic type. This includes the worn mattresses, broken fixtures in the bathroom and so forth. Exterior features have problems like missing tiles and basic cleaning and painting in the parking garage with loose electrical fixtures.

Apparently there are different services for clients using services like Expedia - for instance, there weren't any towels in our room and we had to ask for them. There was no cleaning service during our multiple day stay but the room was pretty clean when we checked in, thankfully. We ran out of toilet paper and towels and had to ask for them on day 3. The balcony door did not latch well and there was a terrible keening sound from the wind coming in. The air conditioner condensation leaked all into the room. They provide large bottles of shampoo/conditioner/soap/body wash that are left for the next guests. The tub had chips in it, the shower curtain wasn't even big enough, the bathroom mirror had corrosion on the bottom you could see. The entire hotel needs serious upkeep done to it. The elevator glitched a few times, we weren't sure if we'd get stuck in it because it didn't want to move. There was no lock to get into the door from the parking garage even though the sign said you had to use your room key.

I thought the staff was fantastic. They accommodated my son’s raised truck by moving under the car to get him access. He could not fit into the parking deck room was clean and well maintained beach views were fantastic. Balcony was clean room was clean. I will definitely stay here again. Price was awesome.
