AC Hotel by Marriott Maui Wailea

Was awesome hotel!!! We really enjoyed.

Staff was great, food was good, room was clean, and pool was refreshing.

The most noticeable issue is staffing. There appears to be very limited staff available throughout the property. In addition, I observed individuals who appeared to be hotel employees working throughout the property while out of uniform and wearing flip-flops, making it difficult to identify staff members and creating an unprofessional impression. Security was also a concern. During my stay, I noticed what appeared to be only a single visible security camera located near the front desk. I did not observe cameras near the elevators or in other common guest areas. While I understand not all security measures are visible, the apparent lack of security monitoring in key areas did not provide the level of confidence and peace of mind I would expect from a property charging premium rates. Housekeeping service was inconsistent during my stay, often arriving after 4:00 PM, and on multiple occasions I had to contact the front desk to request service. Basic essentials such as toilet paper and other room supplies were not consistently replenished. The property charges $40 per day for parking, yet valet service is not offered. Given the parking fee, I expected a higher

Overall, the property and amenities are very nice. However, you automatically have to pay $40 per night for parking with no valet option. The parking is also very limited & not well lit at night which is concerning as a solo traveler. There also isn’t any concierge available to help with luggage.

While not right on the beach, the hotel pool was positioned with beautiful views of the ocean and mountains. The bar was great, as were the staff there. The gym was quite good as well. The room was on a low floor and had very little light, which was not ideal. I should have asked to move.

Leaving, I required them to adjust the invoice since they didn’t apply the correct credit back. The pool was nice and decent pool food.

In my opinion, this hotel is only suitable if you plan to spend most of your time outside exploring and just need a place to sleep. It’s not the kind of hotel I would recommend for a relaxing vacation where you want to stay at the property and enjoy the facilities throughout the day.

We had a breathtaking ocean view from the top floor, making it one of the most beautiful places to wake up to every day during our stay. The cleanliness and overall beauty of the place made it a truly worthwhile experience.

- Good breakfast - Loved the pool and jacuzzi - Clean - When we checked in we were falsely told we hadn’t paid when we had. - Not only that I was overcharged for the room. - We were then given a room that faced the road which was quite noisy. This was disappointing because we were on honeymoon and meant the balcony wasn’t that pleasant. We noticed there were rooms available on the quieter pool side which was a shame we weren’t offered a nicer room. - Although we had a nice stay this is an expensive hotel. Not sure I’d stay here again.

Nighttime front desk was friendly and helpful. Guest service was good. Day time frontdesk during the weekday has an attitude problem. She was extremely rude when we questioned about the destination fees. When there is no clear answer towards whether we could avoid the fees, she told us that she didn’t like my attitude and she requested us to bring two complimentary water back to the front desk. I would expect the water comes with our stays at the hotel at the rate we are paying. Nighttime staff was amazing. Guest service was good.

Great renovated rooms! Clean, love the decor. Only downside was there were only two drawers for storage. Would have been nice to have more. Recommend getting a room on 4th or 5th floor. Views were gorgeous!
