Extended Stay America Suites Boston Waltham 52 4th Ave

This place is gross. We didn’t even stay- there was hair all over the tub and sink, stains on the walls, holes in the walls, dust and pieces of paper on the floor, it smelled bad - terrible. Must not have been updated in ages, and was NOT clean. I checked out as soon as we looked around and the staff wasn’t even surprised. I am pursuing a refund with the manager. I am FAR from high maintenance or demanding, but this hotel was genuinely awful. I didn’t feel safe there.

Wifi was intermittent, and never worked on iPhone, even with manager's help, who also complained about the wifi. Breakfast coffee ran out twice during my stay, making me wait while clerk brewed more (while complaining it wasn't his job). Breakfast was all high-sugar carbs (at least a little protein would have been nice!) Bathroom fan was loudest on record. Slider window kept falling off its track. Dresser was cockeyed and falling apart, literally. Undersink cabinet door missing. Kitchen undercounter shelf missing. Bthrm lght fixtr cracked. Toilet seat loose. Towel bar missing. Fridge dented. Wall paint chipping. On arrival @11:30pm, room's kitchen had zero cookware, utensils, plates. Couldn't call for supplies because room had no phone, and nothing in room showed front desk phone #. Next morning got a coffee maker, but it had no filter-basket and the interior strewn with loose coffee grounds. Second try was clean but also had no basket. Third try had a basket, but it turned out to be the kind that needs special coffee filter packets, and I had no information on what kind to buy. I had to ask for a box of tissues. Discarded beer bottle in stairway (twice). One of two elevators out-of-order. One morning there was no hot water at all, for entire hotel. Whole place looked run-down. Overheard other guests complaining to mgr and getting refunded. I could generally tolerate these challenges, but not at ridiculous $200/night! (And lucky my wife wasn't with me.) (Room 207)

The lady at the front desk was so nice . The location was not great. The place was so dirty. It smelled like dog urine in hall on 2nd floor. Just bad vibes and the rug in hallway looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in weeks. I will never stay at this location again.

Bathroom had mold. Toilet did not flush. Broken cabinets. Spackled holes all over on walls. Moved to another room and was not much better. Not even worth paying $50!

Avoid this property. The management is not helpful and is engaging in bait & switch tactics to rent rooms at rates they have no business asking for what service they are offering. Stay away for your own good!

horrible experience, i came in with friends after a 5 hour road trip and the room had stains on the beds, disgusting odor in the room and the hall, trash not taken out, used towels on the floor, an no tissues or toilet paper in the bathroom. when we complained they said we couldn’t get a new room and we didn’t get an offer for the room to be cleaned. we left an they didn’t give us a refund because there is no manager in on the weekends. horrible hotel, 0/10 please do not come here if you want to enjoy your night sleeping. terrible establishment and it is nowhere near worth the price you will be paying to stay.

The staff was lovely but they were woefully understaffed. One person ran both buildings. They didn’t have enough cleaning people, the elevator was broken, the bed was itchy. The shower leaked.

We did not have the breakfast The first room which was on the first floor was terrible: the pet smell was over whelming and there was no shower curtain. The roo. They moved us to had roach eggs in the iron. Could not use the shower because it was broken.

Location was good. The front desk was very nice and friendly. The room and common areas were very dirty. The elevator was out of order. Coffee and snacks were meager.

The shower head was attached with black electrical tape. The halls smelled like fish. The trim was broken in several places. One elevator was broken. The other elevator got stuck and the fire department had to come. They initially sent us to an occupied room. Door handles were sticky. Even though they have a kitchen in each room, you have to order dishes from the desk. The trim in the bathroom was coming off of the wall. The light in the kitchen was hanging down. The hairdryer didn’t work. We don’t plan on staying at an Extended Stay ever again.

The property is extremely run down from top to bottom. Check-in was a disaster. The system apparently wasn’t working, and the employee assisting me was painfully slow and seemed unable to figure out the technology needed to complete the process. It took far longer than it should have. The amenities were a joke. There was a strange smell throughout the room, and I even found trash on the floor upon arrival. The unit itself was outdated and poorly maintained. Kitchen cabinets were missing, and the chest of drawers had broken or missing pieces. Dust was everywhere — on lamps, picture frames, mirrors, plugs, and basically every surface imaginable. Everything looked dull, dirty, and neglected. The condition of the appliances and bathroom was even worse. There was visible rust inside the refrigerator and around the counters. The bathroom was absolutely unacceptable. The tub was chipped, and the water barely drained at all. I genuinely do not understand how this hotel passes any kind of mandatory inspection. This place is absolutely not worth the money. I would never stay here again and would not recommend it to anyone.
