Arrived to a windowless room and found my bed covered with hair. Stay somewhere else.

The room was small but really cozy and clean. And the linen was fresh and clean the water pressure was amazing and the atmosphere and area it was located was a pleasant.

I like the best of this hotel is its location, which you can see on the map. Moved from another hotel to the Architect Hotel, the water pressure impressed me. I heard that this hotel went through a renovation, but it maintained its old charm. One nightshift receptionist was particularly helpful to make sure that he would get my lunch bag from the refrigerator before 7 am, and handed it to me as soon as I stepped out of the elevator heading out to work. I loved to stay there for three weeks.

Awful experience. Could not get a staffer to pick up the phone during an awful travel experience. Couldn't get to the property until 48 hours after my check in (for a 3 day stay). Wouldn't speak to me, wouldn't refund. DO NOT BOOK

My room was HOT. AC would barely work
-
Dirty, nasty, staff sat on her phone laughing while I tried to check in, no parking, loud window unit ac, no fridge, floors were gross
-
They needed to clean the front entrance of the elevator; there were some visible big blotches of dirty spots leading down the steps to the front of the elevator.
-
Room was clean, staff were friendly. Good location.

I had a great stay, it was like $110 a night and it was a bargain. Location tough to beat, you can walk to the Smithsonians and most of the big monuments/memorials. Older hotel so the rooms are on the smaller side but well appointed. Only had one elevator working but I never waited more than a couple minutes. Would certainly stay again.

I liked the location and the employees
-
Location was great and close to the Metro. Several great places to eat nearby.
-
Room was safe with extra lock and chain on the door. No parking. AC was excellent Staff didn't live in DC so they were not helpful in whete to go or directions. There was an Elevator to get to rooms which is good. Cute hotel. If you are looking for quick stay it is the place. Not good for kids.
-
Clean room, well working aircon, firm bed though.
-
Great location and price. Great wayer pressure.

Cons: If you are looking for a hotel with any type of amenities, then this is not where you want to stay. Rooms are on the small side; they also do not have a refrigerator or coffee maker. The welcome room near check-in may hold about 8 people, and there is not a restaurant on the premises. (There is a CVS, Starbucks, Subway, and Chipotle close by.)

The hotel is a nice historic building. Lots of character. We had a corner room which was comfortable but smaller than the others. The corner room allowed us to see north and west down the street. Loved the location! During Freedom 250 Fourth of July celebration, we walked back and forth from the hotel to the festivities because it was only a few blocks from the White House and Washington Monument. Very convenient location. Nice cafe and restaurants nearby.

The location of the hotel is great. It’s not flashy place at all but the staff are friendly. It’s fine for a short stay especially if you don’t plan to stay indoors often.
